Who is the warmonger?

Number of drone strikes ordered, and people killed (in Pakistan):

Bush, approximately 50 strikes, approximately 500 killed (130 civilians, "unknown" up to 66)

Obama, approximately 330 strikes, approximately 2,800 killed (150 civilians, "unknown" up to 268)

Bush. He instigated the war in Iraq that exacerbated the problems in the Mid-East and brought about the current extreme problems.

Where are the war protesters, CTB? Where are the Hollywood mouthpieces and more that railed with hostility against war under Bush, but are silent about war under Obama?

Can you see the hypocrisy?

I protested, but was in the minority. When you inherit a war you have little choice but to fight on. If he had cut and run where would we be. Bush had the support of the majority of the population because of the hysteria caused by 9/11. He used that to start a totally unnecessary war in Iraq and in doing so ignored Afghanistan and that led to even more problems.

I said then, before we invaded Iraq, that once you stick your fist into a tar baby it is very hard to break free. These problems began after WW I when both the Arabs and Jews were promised a homeland by the British. In time they brought about, with help of course, the establishment of Israel, but reneged on their promise to the Arabs and carved up the Mid-East between themselves in France. The Arabs, with justification I might add, have not trusted any Western government since the 1920's. This is a hard truth that many do not want to face, indeed will screech it is untrue. Sadly it is true.

The so called conservatives now want to rewrite history and blame Obama. It won't wash.

Well we don't have hundreds of thousands of troops spread across two countries right now do we? We are currently just using airstrikes and sorties to attack.

Can you see the ridiculous false equivalency?

I love how one day it's "Obama is a spineless President who won't act!" and the next day it's "Obama is a warmonger!"

This place is hilarious some times.

You are right. There are those who will find fault with Obama regardless criticizing him for day for not acting and criticizing him the next day for acting.

We all know the primary reason for this. It is the same reason the GOP agreed to oppose absolutely Obama proposed when he took office on January 20th, 2009.

On the night of his inauguration:

5 GOP legislators from both houses--along with Newt Gingrich, journalist Fred Barnes, and pollster Frank Luntz, who arranged the evening--got together at a Washington restaurant.

They were not necessarily the party's official leaders, but they were the emotional leaders of the new breed--Jim DeMint, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy--which is to say, the cohort to whom many others were looking for leadership; indeed, if you know anything about Mitch McConnell, to whom the leadership was looking for leadership. They talked for four hours about what their posture should be.

They agreed that night: oppose everything in completely unity. Show, Draper writes, "united and unyielding opposition to the president's economic policies."

So, before President Obama had proposed a single idea, the Republicans had already decided that they would oppose everything he did. Didn't matter what it was. Look his plans over and see where we might be able to work together? Are you kidding?

I don't believe that I have used any of those terms against the president nor have I acted ridiculous. I merely asked CTB a question.

Carry on....

Why I bothered making a post this morning, I'll never know.

Before he had proposed a single idea? Give me a break! The direction he was going to take was well known. When you have principles that you don't want to compromise, this IS your strategy. Generally speaking, Republicans oppose government interference in free markets. Obama's proposals to create massive programs of government spending--both the stimulus and ObamaCare, along with tax increases--are anathema to Republican core beliefs. Therefore, their opposition is logical and predictable.

You frequently bring up Republican opposition to Obama's policies and then act indignant that they should dare hold to their principles. Get over it.

We have a couple of new left wing extremists on the board lately. Post away and put them on ignore. You can know in advance what they will post.

Pay attention to the bolded: "right now". As our president has said, this is going to take time. Seeing as his military branches are advising him that there will have to be boots on the ground to secure the peace he's trying to achieve, we'll see what happens in a few months, or even weeks.

Translation: Bush is a warmonger for starting it. Obama is not a warmonger for continuing it.

There's no revision of history here. Obama's promise was to get the military out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Instead, he's kept them there, and he's now instigating more aggression in those areas.

Color it how you want. Facts remain.

War is hell, it's also inevitable.

Obama has learned this, he just can't call it what it is.

Pray for wisdom for him, first to end abortion, our own brand of atrocity.
Let us act first to stop the shedding of innocent blood.

Nonetheless this war between Isaac and Ishmael will continue until Christ returns.

No you didn't. Others have though on many occasions which is why I said "This place is hilarious sometimes." Not a reference to you. Your point about it being an act of hypocrisy though is ridiculous to me. The "war" we are fighting now is not even remotely comparable to a ten year simultaneous occupation of two different countries. Naturally the reasons leading up to previous protests are miles away from what people would protest today.
