President Barack Obama goes into the 2012 with a weak economy that may doom his reelection. But he has one asset that hasn’t received much attention: He’s honest.
The sight of Texas Governor Rick Perry tumbling out of the clown car recently as a “birther” (or at least a birther- enabler) is a sign of weakness, not just for the Perry campaign but for the whole Republican effort to tarnish the president’s character.
Although it’s possible that the Solyndra LLC story will become a classic feeding frenzy, don’t bet on it. Providing $535 million in loan guarantees to a solar-panel maker that goes bankrupt was dumb, but so far not criminal or even unethical on the part of the administration. These kinds of stories are unlikely to derail Obama in 2012. If he loses, it will be because of the economy -- period.

Solyndra, LightSquared and SunPower are a couple of scandals that the media pays scant attention to. Now to have a story claiming there are no scandals with Obama's Presidency is a bit too much.

Having the energy department give out more loans to Solyndra and then putting minority private investors in first position for recovering funding in the case of bankruptcy sure smells unethical to me.

"Free of scandal" or a machine in place to keep anything 'scandalous' out of the public eye? If so, not the least cog in that machine would be a conveyor to label any reporter a racist for revealing what might not be seen as 'upright.' Kennedy's similar machine a half century ago was financed by old Joe. Obama has no old Joe, but he would have numerable limousine liberals with more resources than their exposed $50,000/plate dinner for Slick Willie 15 years ago.

The real point is, you gotta be near-crazy to believe a president is really what he shows to the public. A few insiders know what he's really like. But they wouldn't have such positions if they were to tell it like it is.

A clean-energy firm led by a member of President Obama's jobs council has a stake in projects that have reaped nearly $2 billion in loan guarantees from Washington, a case that has raised conflict-of-interest concerns as the same jobs council pushes for more "government-backed" investment in renewable energy.

The company, NextEra Energy, secured a loan guarantee in August for a solar project in California. An affiliate has taken over another California project that won a separate guarantee in September. The firm is no lightweight -- NextEra Energy Resources, the subsidiary working on both solar projects, is the biggest producer of wind and solar energy on the continent.

But the company also enjoys a connection to the Obama administration -- company Chairman and CEO Lewis Hay sits on the president's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, which last month issued a report calling, among other things, for a new federal financing program to attract private investment for clean energy projects via loan guarantees

There are plenty of scandals in the Obama administration. the media plays them down , but thay have only gone totally unnoticed in the media by partisan hacks like this one.

The behavior of this administration is , in and of itself, just plain scandalous a lot of the time.
