For those of you that think the "Sons of God" being settled is a small matter and inconsequential to your knowledge of the Bible.

I challenge you to read John 3:16... and the REST of your bible ... with NEW eyes.

Hence... it needed a new thread.

Just because some of the BB posters disagree with your conclusions does not mean they are blind to the truth or that they, and their eyes, have not been renewed by the Spirit of God.

It was a challenge... not an insult.

And there's ALWAYS a different facet of the diamond to inspect.

And there's a difference between disagreeing... and being disagreeable.

Galatians 3:26. 'For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.'
Christians are adopted sons; The Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son.

While you are right... it doesn't quite reflect the nature of our status in the Kingdom of God... as the Divine Council or Heavenly Host is concerned.

Why not? Our adoptive sonship is the whole aim of the Incarnation:

'But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba, Father!"
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ' (Galatians 4:4-7).

What's the point anyways? And exactly, love when people assume we haven't exegeted every biblical passage from Gen to Rev, but "Begotten" is not "Human Begotten", but "God Begotten", IOW if you are arguing for Christ being created at a specific point in History, you miss the point. When I have a son, he has a start date, end date for his body, he's like me, when God has a Son the same applies, IE Always existed, Alpha and Omega, Beginning and End. And TIME doesn't exist, completely different topic, but "Time" is not a thing, as Augustine said "The future is not here, the past is gone, and there is not moment, where then time". Humans don't experience time, but CHANGE, and we gauge that by man made clocks, we could have made months 2 days long, me 300 "Years" old, see how transient time is, it simply, like Chance is not a thing, and without force. God has always existed in one moment, and while He doesn't change, the created things around Him do.

The Greek Philosophers were right, you can't look at the same river twice, not because of a force called "time", but one called "Change", each instance we look at the river, even blink it's different, same with humans, we say "Human Beings", but this is false, only God is a BEING, we are all "BECOMMINGS", changing forever, while God is immutable, ok enough rambling on my part:)

Jesus was not always "Son of Man", let's never forget His two parts, Son of Man and Son of God, as Son of Man He died on the cross, but as Son of God He did not, for God cannot die. Much confusion and at least 3 cults I know of because they can't make that distinction. (Not saying you aren't)

But Cal, it takes time to change! :)

Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed (Grk. metamorphoo) into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
