Third day in a row for snow. Methinks w are getting winter all in a week...over foot and a half now, and to-days flakes are huge.

What a pretty picture with the snow staying to the tree branches and the trees bowing down the laneway.

Cheers,

Jim

I bet it's beautiful Jim! I'd love to see those flakes! I've loved snow since the first time I saw it. We had an overnight snow when I was a small child (in Mobile) but it warmed right up and we played in short sleeves that day. My first true snowfall came when I was a few weeks shy of 20 years old and we were living in New Jersey with Jim's army assignment. The flakes were HUGE!

I wish I had the facilities on thsi computer to show photos, but sadly I don't. Perhaps when Sheila receives the CHristms card she will post the one photo from it...It is our laneway and two dogs running ahead of us taking the photos.

Cheers,

Jim

I'll look forward to seeing that Jim! You'll have to tell us the dogs names and info when it's posted.

I have a co-worker from Haiti, yesterday was the first time he had seen snow! He wasn't too happy when we explained this cold and most of the snow will be here for about 3 months!

I experienced my first real snow when I came to Canada in 1948 where the snowbanks in Montreal were over my head...astonishing! We never had more than a sprinkle of snow in London.

Heard the story about the lad who came to Alberta from England and they asked him how he enjoyed summer in Canada. He wrote back, I don't know. I have only been here 13 months.

Cheers,

Jim

Hello everyone.

Our wood burner is now installed so we will busy swapping furniture about. I think bookcases will be remaining in situ tho'. It is amazing the difference the stove makes to the room already. It replaces an extremely hidious fifties tiled fireplace.

Well, coffee is finished, so back to work.

God Bless

Hi Sheila and Roger,

Enjoy your woodburner, Sheila. We heat our 2000 sq ft home with one woodstove, and have done for 32 years....and we get more severe weather. We do have electric fires in bathrooms.

I thought, at times, I would like to have central heating, but that soon wears off. Maybe on my 80th birthday, I'll give it another thought.

Cheers,

Jim

Hello Roger and Jim.

No Roger, the woodburner in independent of our central heating. Still got to move furniture around. Rob is out at church this evening so I will be limited to what I can manage on my own.

What is everyone else up to today ?

Blessings

We used a wood burning stove as our only source of heat in Connecticut. We still had the oil furnace and kept oil in the tank for the hot water heater but never had to turn on the heat. Wood was quite inexpensive then while oil was at a new high.

The only thing I didn't care for was having to get up quite early in the morning to stoke up the fire so the house would be warm when the children got up for school.

I know exactly what I have done today. This morning I was at uni sorting out stuff there and this afternoon I was finishing the changeover from sitting room to dining room and vice versa. Then I did Tesco at tea time. Sainsburys I will do tomorrow. I am really tired now. I can't decide whether or not to put the Christmas tree up this evening or leave it and see if Sam's girlfriend would like to help me with it. We are going to be making Christmas puddings next week.

We go to meet them (Sam and Mariel)at the coach station at  (3 am ish) in the morning. Not sure if I should try and get some sleep or just stay up and potter about.

How is everyone else's day going

Blessings
