OK, didn't Queen Victoria reign for about 62 years?
I just read an article about Queen Elizabeth's 80, and it said that at 54 years she is The longest reigning monarch. Don't ya wish people would get their facts straight before thay write these things?

Hello all you folks wots up....

I have been to a church function which was illuminating and it was so pleasant to come out into the cool evening. COOL a wonderful novelty, finally the horrible summer is over and the blessed rest of the year has landed in dear Brisbane.

I believe what the article may have said (since I heard a quote on the telly) is that she is now the longest reigning monarch currently in Europe. Of course that is now a pretty small club!

Hello Jim

It is a sunny afternoon here but now I have finished baking (apple cake) I thought I would look in here quickly before I go back to my books.

Nothing like a rainy day for a reason to put your feet up and catch up on some reading Jim.

Blessings

Hello, folks!!

Sheila, I went to the BBC site and watched several of the videos. Thanks for the link!
Watched Prince Charles' tribute, but as usual, I couldn't understand most of what he said. [I've always had a hard time understanding him.]

Hi Sheila,

We have been enjoying lovely weather as well, but expecting four days of rain now.

The blossoms are out early on all the fruit trees ad that is frightening. We could lose them all with a heavy frost. Of the three trees I planted last summer, only one is somewhat sparse. It may still come on.

Cheers,

Jim

Hello Jim

Our good weather is not expected to extend into the weekend apparently. Never mind, I expect there is plenty more to come as and when.

We are having some young friends over to dinner tonight. It is their first wedding anniversary on Sunday.

I will try and look in later,

Blessings

The anniversary dinner was huge success.

Is so quiet in here, what is everyone doing ?

It is pouring with rain here and thunder is forecast too. I am busy knitting a baby blanket for a friend who is expecting twins, so I expect I will knit another to go with it.

Haven't had the time to master the art of crochet yet.

We are looking forward to a week in Wales soon.

Well, I hope someone posts in here soon, or I am talking to myself.

Blessings

Sheila

Hi Sheila, Glad to read that all went well with your anniversary dinner.

If you read along here, you find that lesser topics gain gret attendance whilst more serious topics pass away.

Good that this is just a friendship thread. I don't have much to offer. I am keeping busy out of doors, even if it is just walking around the plot, watching the birds fly about and the young trees growing.

You always enjoy your week in Wales, and I wish you all the best with that. I would love to travel again, but it is not so, and I must be content to be where I am. One is never alone when one has Jesus.

Cheers for now,

Jim

Hello Jim,

Good to see you here.

Yes, we are looking forward to our stay with our friends in Wales. We leave after church next Sunday lunchtime. I am hoping the weather will be better, but it won't bother us too much as our friends are frail, being in their eighties. The husband is 86. We just enjoy sitting, chatting to them and watching the buzzards fly around. There are some lovely walks if the weather is kind to us.

Rob always manages to find some odd jobs to do around the small holding to help out.

It will be a computer free week.
