Oh my goodness, Dan. What a to do. Can you not go straight to the manufacturer? What about buying gluten free flour and making your own?

When we go to the store - the bread is kept in a freezer - so I expect that it would cost as much or more to have it shipped directly to us!

    Only in Canada, you say!

Dan, our of curiosity, I phoned two health food shops; Napanee and Kingston (20 miles and 40 miles one way) and gluton free bread was regular fare. I neglected to ask the price, but it seems you could drive to Canada at will and have your bread, and a lovely drive to boot.

I am running late to-day. Must get at the devotional before noon.

    Cheers to all,

    Jim

    Morning Jim!

As Rochester is in the center between Buffalo and Watertown - I would think that would make the trip much longer than 70 miles one way.

Of course - the new high speed ferry will soon be in action between Rochester and Toronto(?). But I'm sure that the ferry will not be inexpensive!

I know the distance is great, but it does seem odd that a health food store in your locale would not have handy what our shops consider routine. All so-called health food stores are expensive.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I just eat whole wheat bread.

Don't care for whole wheat myself.

I do like Roman Meal - but my favorite is English Muffin Toasting Bread. I use it for my lunchtime sandwich - almost every day!

Well - we made the trip - Jan now has a dozen loaves of bread - that taste good - and do not damage her health!

She got a break of $11.80 for buying in case lots. Trip is only 70 miles from home to the health food store - so with cost of bread - $0.375/mile plus cost of supper at Wendy's - cost per loaf is $9.64 - that doesn't include the cost of four pair of shorts she bought at The Bon Ton!

    Good morning and God bless!

This has the beginnings of another glroious day weatherwise, and grass to mow. Not much time for reading, but I shall manage a few poems to-day. I am reading through an old book on American Poetry (title of the book). It is interesting to read the various philosophical thoughts expressed through poetry and then read the biographies of the poets. Very telling.

I guess now that Dan has a storehouse of bread he can just loaf about for awhile.

    Cheers,

    Jim

I suspect that Jan will have it all gone in no time - then she'll tell me she needs to order some again.

Wow! That brings a whole new understanding of "a day's wages for a loaf of bread", eh? Seriously, when I baked my own bread & folks wanted to buy it, I would have had to charge every bit of $5 & I just couldn't bring myself to do that...so I gave it away! ;)

Last week I bought two loaves of bread at $0.69/loaf - the kind I really like. I should have bought more - but then there would have been no room in the freezer for the expensive bread!

The kind you really like-would I find it down here to try? The other day I discovered one out at Wal*Mart called Honey Nut'n'Oat. It was devine!

I guess a spammer is something like a spanner, They both twist nuts.

Good morning, almost noon. I am having difficulty
to-day connecting and staying. Problem is to do with work on the phone lines where my provider is located.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well, Dan, some people have something to say even when they have nothing to say.

It may not say much, but it is worth one more post.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Jim - has the telephone line been fixed yet.

I'm glad it was up long enough for you to get your devotional posted!
