Thank you for your kind words, Granny. I have joined several other boards, but I just can't keep up with more than one. Ed keeps several going at a time. It takes me a long time to learn to navigate a new board. They all are so different. I like to read for a while before I post on a Board. It took me several months to post very many posts on this Board.

Watching storms tonight. I think they are going to miss us again.

Hope you have a great evening.

    Thankful,

I thought that was me [IMG] [IMG]

Studies are slow but sure, I hope. Back to the books now,

    Have a great day everyone,

Thankful - I cut my teeth on BB - and I'm used to the way the board works. No other board that I belong to works quite like this one - and I'm easily confused!

Good morning Sheila - keep studying - and writing that thesis!

Hey Jim - I hope you still stop by and read - even if you don't post much! Always enjoy having a senior citizen to pick on!

Friends, the Board has been slow of late, for various reasons. I notice that certain threads, generally quite busy, even with nothingness, have slowed to a halt. That is what I am saying.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

I am sorry if I understood your original post. I tend to see things in black and white, and can have a limited sense of humour. I suppose I could be described as a "Margo"

    Blessings

Good afternoon all. It is quiet here and quiet at home. Ed and Muffin are napping!

Sounds like a good idea to me.

    Hello Thankful,

Yes, it is quiet isn't it?

It is that time of the year here when we get the neighbours at the door saying "please can we have our ball back?" LOL. I think I will have to tell them to feel free to retrieve it themselves if we are not in, cos if Leo finds it, the ball won't stand a chance. Leo loves to play ball, but he gets very enthusiastic and he still has very sharp teeth.

Hey girls! I've been out all day...and now it's time to hit the hay. It rained this afternoon which will make the grass grow and that means "mow time", haha.

They finally finished working on my floors and walls, so maybe this old house will stand another 100yrs. Have a blessed Lord's Day.

    Granny,

That is good news about the work on your house. Is there any more work to be done?

Rob hurt his back and his arm yesterday working on the base for his new garden shed. I think he has pulled some muscles but he is very uncomfortable and also he seems to be having a bad attack of hayfever. He has had such a bad night that he has gone back to bed, so he must be suffering.

    I will look in later.

Have a blessed Lord's Day all, [IMG]

Yes, sisSheila, there is MUCH more work to be done, but we lack the $$$...so it is put on hold. The part that was repaired was a "have to", as we could see 'daylight' where the floor was separating from the outside walls. Also, the windows were barely there and in our bedroom, the only thing holding us was the carpet-YIKES! The main nest of termites was in the center wall of the house.

Where son'n'law yanked out my bushes/flowers, etc, I reckon I'll put a new sitting place, like a patio of bricks or something...but that's on the back-burner too. I'd just as soon live in the woods in a one-room shack, as long as I have a front porch and my rocking chair. ~smile~

It's raining, it's pouring, da granny's happy. [IMG]

    Good afternoon,

Good to see everyone up and about, at least in spirit.

Granny, I suspect there isn't much worse than having termites infest your house; they do so much damage. We bought a village house that was built in the dirty 30's and the only additions came as children were born and new space was required. The additions looked like that too. It would have been cheaper to have torn the house down and built a new one. We wanted to keep the sense of history in the village so set about to restore it. Thousands of dollars later, we are still restoring.

Sheila, you might have to baby Rob a little to-day. Overdid it a bit, did he? One step at a time, especially when you get a little older. I get sore just watching the workmen these days.

Yes, Roger, everything is slow. It seems we have cabin fever late in the season. That usually hits in February, longing for winter's end.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Granny,

Over here we tend to have 1, 2, 5 and 10 year plans, LOL.

Jim, yes, he did overdo it a bit. Rob seems to have hurt his back and also the muscles in his upper left arm and side. He seems brighter now, but has been in bed most of the day.

Roger, thank you. I hope Rob is on the mend too. I don't like to see him in pain and during the night he didn't know what to do with himself. He is in constant pain in his back anyway following osteomylitis some years ago. It ate away a part of one of his vertabrae.

Sadly we haven't been able to go to church today, but the pastor sent us an e-mail saying we had been prayed for. That is comforting.

Isn't it wonderful how we can communicate with e-mails in todays' technological age? I think it is great. [IMG]

    God Bless

    Sheila

I hardly ever use land mail anymore.

We hear about some of the faults of the internet, but there are also countless joys. I met a lady on the internet in a chat room. As we talked, I learned that she was a teenager at a camp where I had been the guest preacher. She backed up her story with actual photos of all the teens and me in the middle of the front row. Now she is married with grown children of her own. So that tells you how many years ago, and we meet on the internet.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

The internet is great, but I still love sending and receiving "nice post". What I like about the internet is the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I have come to know some lovely people and have also learnt so much.

    God Bless

    Sheila

I'm going to say my goodnight here tonight.

We are off to Northern Ireland early tomorrow to get Matt, Michelle, and our little Morgann. Friday they fly back to the States until they can raise the rest of their missionary support to get back over her.

Gonna miss Matt and Shelly of course, but losing our only grand baby for an extended period is really heartbreaking :( .

See all you cyber-friends sometime tomorrow!

    Aww Roger,

I really hope the time passes very quickly and they get back to NI very soon. Not easy saying goodbyes is it?

Will continue to pray for you,

    Blessings

No more Good byes. One of the reasons I close off with cheers. I am not saying goodbye so much as I am wishing you well in your journey. Cheers can be used, and is used, both coming and going. If the words one hears from me are my last, as least I am leaving them in "good cheer" and never in finality.

May the Lord bless us each one this Monday.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Cheers - nice thought Jim.

When our daughters first went to college - they told me I should get email! My comment was - if I won't pay thirty cents to send you a real letter - what makes you think I would spend close to $20 a month - not to send you emails! [IMG]

I'm not much of a letter writer - if it's something important - I usually call

I now get about 20 emails a day - most of them junk.

I haven't been on BB as much lately - seems like we've been very busy.

This week - a wedding (my neice - and I officiate) on Saturday. Leading up to that - discussions with her on what she expects from me on Tuesday - rehersal on Friday. Both daughters, daughter-in-law, and one granddaughter will be in the wedding - and son will sing with sister.

Mixed in with all that - Jan's great nephew died last Thursday from wounds received in Iraq. And we don't know yet when the funeral will be.

Still go to work each day - and spend too much time seeing medical people!

Also have church folks who are having problems - one dear lady in my church (deacon's wife - Sunday School teacher - Junior church worker) had the first of two knee replacements.

Took three boys to Practical Bible College last Thursday - picked them up on Saturday - that takes a big chunk of time.

Dan - not complaining - just stating why you haven't heard as much from me.

PS - granny - build a concrete house!
