Winds are gale force here at the moment. the north and east of the country is meant to get snow, but it should bypass us.

    Ed,

You are just too technical! Of course - so am I!

    Sheila,

Romans by Boice and Romans by MacArthur. Also have commentaries on Romans by Hodge, Wuest Word Pictures, Matthew Henry, Pulpit Commentary, and Ironside.

I use Boice and MacArthur most of the time.

Most of our New Testament Theology comes from Paul - and I enjoy hearing messages on Paul writings.

Other than the Bible - I enjoy reading novels most of all - The Left Behind Series - and Beverly Lewis' stuff on the Amish.

Ah, just got done doing a ton of laundry! Sheets, blankets, all that good stuff and now the whole place smells like fabric softener. [IMG] We normally don't use it but I found out I'm not allergic to Snuggle so that's what we got!
It's snowing again, and beautiful this time. The big flakes that just float gently and give you that winter wonderland feeling, especially at night when it glitters on the way down. I had to drive 45 minutes in it, which quite as beautiful since it was dark and I couldn't make out where the road was, but I went about 20mph the whole way (as did most other people I saw) and it was nice and relaxing. We got home and I put the girls blankets in the dryer and they all went to bed nice and toasty. I accidentally left my blanket in the car and don't feel like going back out so I'm gonna have to sneak into one of their rooms tonight and share the blankie! LOL

Don't you just love it when you're driving 20 MPH and some idiot goes by you doing 70 MPH?

Two things make me feel much better when that happens:

    1. the bloke has been stopped by smokey about two miles up the road!
    2. the bloke is in a ditch about two miles up the road (Just as long as he's not hurt)!

Dan - some drivers are idiots!

(A lot like one of my stupid cats - who tried to jump through the boarded up area over my upstairs door - again!)

    Good Morning to you all,

I expect you are all still in the land of nod. I will go and do some reading and look in later.

Dan, do you read any other books on Paul?

    Blessings

    Sheila

    Hi Sheila,

You might consider reading, Paul: Apostle of the Heart Set Free, by F.F. Bruce. One of the very best books on Paul.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

Thank you. I will add that book to the list. I think tho' it is fairly expensive, so can't afford it over above the "must have" books for uni.

    Dan,

When you mention Boice, is that James Mongomery Boice? There is someone of that name who has just had a new commentary on Daniel published by Baker. ISBN 0-8010-1258-9 Over hear it is £14.99, I don't know what it will be over there in $.

Also, Paternoster are publishing a new series:
Studies in "Baptist History and Thought" of which
"More Than a Symbol, The British Baptist Recovery of Baptismal Sacramentalism " by Stanly K. Fowler is the first. That is £19.99 and the ISBN is:
    1-84227-052-4

Hope this is of interest to you. Have you noticed I am in a chatty mood this afternoon? LOL.

    Blessings

    Sheila

There is a lot of confusion about the late F.F. Bruce, as to his denomination. I have heard people connect him to the Anglican Church, but he was a Plymouth Brethren from the very beginning. He was a prolific writer and professor of New Testament studies. He died in 1990 (I believe).

I think I have most of his books. Always a laborious read, but worth the effort. He covers the entire subject objectively.

Cheers, and good reading. I am not very current in my reading material. Just re-reading many of my own books. I bought most of my books when they were inexpensive. One book to-day costs as much as I paid for an entire set years back.

It is again the picture of winter here in Eastern Ontario as the snow gently falls blanketing the ground once more.

Soon it will be spring and plants will begin to shove their way above ground.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Jim,

It's February - you're in Ontario, Canada - it's snowing and cold - must be the groundhog told the truth when he said six more weeks of winter!

It's still raining down here, but one good thing about that is, ya don't gotta shovel rain!

But I'd better learn how to swim soon or get my boat fixed!

    Granny,

Maybe you and Diane could both take swimming lessons together - with two of you - you might just get a discount!

Dan - just trying to help people save money! (While spending it!)

    Jim,

You are correct - but you don't have to do anything with rain - and it's usually warmer when we see liquid sunshine!

    Evening Ed,

I did a little poking around the versions forum tonight.

They either love you or hate you over there - there seems to be no middle ground! (Of course - the same can be said of a good deal of this forum!)

Going to call it quits for tonight - nice number to quit on - # 7777 [IMG]

    Dan - tired!
