My wife a retired school teacher... These were her rules... All phones will be turned off and put in a box to be picked up after class... If I catch you with a phone the first time, I will return it to you after class... The second time you have to come and get it... The third time I will call your parents and they have to come and I will turn it over to them... Only one time did she have to use the third time rule... Some kids never learn... Brother Glen:)

Almost our exact rules at my school. We don't play about cell phones. You take it out of your pocket or book bag - It's ours.

University students in the school where I taught were also addicted to their phones. From my desk it looked like they were reading from our textbook but they actually were just looking at their phones hidden in the shelf below. So, after a few days of this, I just turned their desks around so they no longer had those shelves facing them. Cut down on their phone use.

Did you see the video a year or so ago where the teacher took the girls phone and she pepper sprayed him?

There was another where this very large teen boy jumped the female teacher after class and beat her unconscious… I think for taking his phone?

Young people!!!

BTW, was that a “Far Side” comic strip?

Peace to you

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

We had a group of engineers fresh out of college quit when they learned no electronics were allowed in their assigned area.

On the flip side - when my son was in high school they used their phones for assignments over the school app.

Back in the day, my wife worked as the admin assistant to the VP of Engineering. These engineers were all brought in on work visas. Well the first thing they had to have were Palm Pilots and they harangued her because the deliveries were slow. They insisted that those Palm Pilot’s were critical to their performance & bringing projects in under the assigned timeframe. They never achieved any significant progress , the company failed and closed and they all got fired… all because of delays in PP delivery. :Whistling Oh well :Laugh

Lol

When I got to this site I discovered we use a scaler with a palm pilot interface. First time I saw one of those in decades.
