But really you are smart and know what I meant. Baptist's believe in local control, in having autonomy, not believing in a central authority. You guys read the scriptures and then come up with your own conclusions which can vary from church to church. If some people in a particular congregation disagree where the Pastor is going they just leave and start up a new church. (I know you know that is true)
What were the letters to the Corinthians, the Galatians, or the Ephesians if not but St. Paul (from the central Christian authority) exercising his authority over the local churches? Yep, that's what he was doing!
