"Brownshirts" is way over the top. One can disagree with Bush and his policies without resorting to such language. Calling people "brownshirts" must be grossly offensive to those who remember the Holocaust and the Hitler government. Whatever Bush may be, a brownshirt is certainly not it.

If you think the word "brownshirts" in its historical connotation in Nazi Germany has any resemblance to what is going on now then you are grossly unfamiliar with history.

I recently listened to a Holocause survivor who was kicked out her home and country at 13 years of age and sent to Siberia for the duration of the war (five years) where they barely survived. Her father died in Siberia.

That is what the brownshirts do, and that is substantively different than what is going on now. People who make charges like this show a famine of critical thinking and civil discourse. And the existence of it proves the idiocy of the original charge. If this were truly "brownshirtism," such charges would never be allowed. So the very fact that such a charge can be made proves that it is not true.

You complain about the Bush tactics against those who disagree (name calling, questioning their patriotism, etc), but then you defend it when people do it against Bush. That is hypocritical, and I imagine most people can see it. Why don't you take a stand to raise the level of discourse?

I think Bush is bad and getting worse all the time. I think he started off better than he is finishing. He had the chance to do some great things, even in Iraq, but he has squandered it. But I also have enough sense to see through the silliness of this type of argument.

Raise the level of discourse with people that consistantly deny whats blatantly going on right in front of their faces??? How am I to do that??? Can I surgically implant all the information into your brian and make it make sense when you refuse to put it there yourself??? C'mon PL, at least try to be real for a minute.

You calling it silliness is silly. How anyone can sit there and deny what's happening now and been happening since Jimmy Carter and the trilaterals gained the executive office is beyond my powers of comprehension. Our whole government with the exception of but a few is corrupt and rotten to the core and the infrastructure of an American or "North American" dictatorship is being put in place right before our eyes and we look the other way and call those who do see crazies or wackos! Incredible!

No this is being fearless enough to look at all the information that is available and drawing conclusions based on that information and warning people to what is actually going on, because apparently the people have failed themselves their families and their country by prefering the comfort of the apathetic dementia supplied by the infotainment of the conglomerated corporate media to the sometimes unpleasant responsibility and hard work involved in being a truely informed citizen. Liberals, socialists and a few radical Muslims aren't the only threats to freedom.

I am being very real. I think your experience here has shown us that you are the one who is too often refusing to be real. And it is pretty well documented.

I refuse to grant the premise. You pretend like your premise is true and then argue from it. But you have not proven that.

I think there is certainly some of this demonstrated here. Some, such as you, want power so badly in the hands of your friends, that you will say or do whatever to try to create enough fear to bring it about. I reject that approach. I believe truth and integrity is more important than that.

And if you have any understanding of history, you will never associate what is going on now with the Brownshirts unless you are intentionally dishonest. It just isn't the same. What happened in the 30s and 40s in Germany was vastly different than what is happening now. You can tell that just by looking at the values of the Neo-Nazi groups and seeing how much they do not like what is going on now. So this is clear. You just refuse to see it because it is easier to lvie in your little hole.

The left has a history of this. The President has been called Hitler. It just shows the unrealistic and unreasonable rational that drives the criticisms of the President.

• The similarities of the Reichstag fire to the events of 9/11. Both events were frauds, were used to instill fear in the masses which resulted in national and international change.
  
• The similarities of the Jew boogey man of Hitler to the Moslem boogey man of Bush.
  
• How the Enabling Act and the Patriot Act resemble each other.
  
• The Nazi background of Prescott Bush.
  
• How easy it is to manipulate emotional nationalistic tendencies and compromised Christianity.

A few remaining elements to look for (in no particular order)...

• At least one more major "natural disaster" or "terrorist event"
  
• A collapse of the U.S. fiat currency, fraudulently called a "dollar"
  
• National ID
  
• The filling of U.S. detention centers

No emotion, including hate, is necessary to understand these things. In fact, emotions including unbalanced nationalism/jingoism rather than patriotism, just get in the way and cloud the ability to analyze and discern.
