I don't have a problem with combining threads of the same topic PL. Seems fair enough to me.

Over the next five months I fear it will get really, really ugly in this forum - on the part of all sides.

Why ever should it? Can we not discuss and debate topics on which we disagree without getting "ugly"? The Posting Rules include (amongst other things):
"3. Show grace to the other posters. When someone disagrees with you, discuss it; but be slow to offend, and eager to get into the Word and find the answers. Remember, when discussing passionate issues, it is easy to go too far and offend."

Far more importantly, Jesus gave His followers a new commandment, that they should love one another. I know that does not mean sloppy, sentimental love, but surely we need to avoid getting ugly with one another.

The closer the family the more sipirted the debates.

I don't care either way.

Whoa wait a minute does this mean we've reached consensus on something PL? ;)

But does "spirited" equal "ugly"?

Euphemistically it can I suppose but on a Christain board it shouldn't imo. There are a few us here myself and others who have had some very spirited engagments in the past. We've hurled some ugly at each other from time to time.

I can't say I have come away from any of it with a dislike for anyone actually for me it's only made me grow fonder of the people I've trade barbs with. Politics is an emotional battle as much as anything and there are some serious players on this field so you'll have ugly from time to time.

Not saying it's right but it's going to happen.

The reason there is so many threads that outline a particular problem with Obama is because.....

There are so Many problems with Obama!!!

And it is not unChristlike to point out things wrong with Obama...

Obama is not Christlike... And anyone that says he is is deluded.

John the Baptist pointed out problems with Herod and got beheaded....

And when Obama is president, he will be responsible for every abortion committed under his leadership unless he tries to outlaw abortion...

But that won't happen because he is proud of the fact that he supports killing the punishments... uh babies...

Obama is as bad as Herod... and one day we may be beheaded for saying so...

But if that is the case, then so be it...

I will go out like another Baptist!

I have a few days off from work and I plan to create 24 SEPARATE anti-JSM III threads off site and then post them all within a matter of minutes. This politics forum will be flooded with anti-JSM III threads. They are all that will be seen on the first page.

Just stay tuned.

You seem to be telegraphing your intentions to deliberately upset the politics forum. I think it would be best not to do either. There will be anti-Obama threads in this forum because a lot of us have valid concerns with his qualifications. I think you should comment on them if you have something to add.

Yeah, we're gonna have more fun than a mudhole full of tickled pigs.

As the old saying goes, "Never fight with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig enjoys it!" :)

But you said you would vote for Obama.

I should know some time tomorrow whether or not that statement is still operative after I find out what the Libertarian Party does in its nominating process in Denver.

Read a quote supposedly from Churchill awhile back - don't know where.

He didn't like cats or dogs but liked pigs. A cat dispises you, a dog loves you and a pig treats you as an equal.

Not sure that relates to the thread but there it is

That's a good one, exscentric. :)

I apologize for my posts in this thread this morning. I guess I was just in a venting mood this morning. Sorry.

Apology accepted, Ken, and thank you for making it.

I think a lot of us are venting about the election this year because we are frustrated (speaking for myself only). :BangHead:
