Quench not the Spirit.
Good advice. When the Spirit inspires scripture that says "tongues shall cease" it is best not to quench the Spirit but to believe the scripture he inspired.

Its only in christianity we see too much religious people.
No, every religion EXCEPT Christianity is based on religion so called. Christianity is based on the Truth.

too many denominations.
This is the Baptist Only section of the Baptist Board. Are you saying you are NOT Baptist?

In Islam there are no such denominations.
What does the Satanic religion of Islam have to do with the discussion?

Please be wise,
Good advice. Being wise begins with the reverence of the Lord and His word which says "tongues shall cease."

The Holy spirit is real,
We all know that. He inspired the bible that says "tongues shall cease."

stop being religious.
Who are you accusing of being religious in place of Christian?

This is a forum for views,
This is a Baptist forum, not a Pentecostal forum or a Crazymatic forum.

Christianity is a free religion i believe.
Not sure what that means. It certainly was not free for Christ. It cost Him his life, but He took it up again.

For the things of the spirit are foolishness to a carnal man (1 Corinthians 2:14)
Who in this forum are you applying that verse to?

It was done in the Netherlands. When people fall under power in Church, it means Angels are involved.
As they were praying in tongues, it means the Holy spirit was present. watch the video till the end.
You will see the ladies that fell under power and began speaking in tongues.
I really doubt that the Holy Spirit would be involved in something like that!

It takes one from your kingdom to identify the other members.
If its not from God, then its from your kingdom, tell us the name of that your kingdom. I hope its not demonic, i wouldnt wanna know.
Seems that some here are gifted with the spirit of discernment regarding this issue, and others are not.

Ah, but discernment is learned from God on High (Psalms 119:66). What we need is everyone praying for discernment, so that those without discernment can get good gifts and stop getting snakes from the devil.

I was involved in the WoF cult for several years. I know that you think you're seeing a move of God. I thought the things I saw during that time were all miraculous moves of God, too. But, as somebody who was involved in that movement, I can assure you, you're not. It's all emotional manipulation.

These people are victims, not examples for us to follow.

TCassidy isn't "quenching the Spirit" or being "religious". He's merely pointing out to you, albeit, somewhat rudely, that what you think is, ain't.

If you think he's wrong, then show your verses.

One could just as easily say to you, "...so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."

and

3For the time is coming when people will not endure sounda teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

The same way when the Holy spirit fell on the disciples on the day of pentecost, people thought they were drunk.

Correct. The text says that the people thought they were drunk, not that they actually were drunk or behaved drunkenly.

Just as people said Jesus had a demon because He did supernatural things and that He was a drunk and a glutton.

In both cases, it was a false perception of people who were blind, not anything the Disciples or Jesus did, themselves.

Some confused thinking that “charismatic gibberish” is tongues.

It is not.

“Tongues” in the Scriptures is ALWAYS a known cultures language. It is not “unknown” to the people that speak that language. Greek speaking understand Greek. Hebrew speaking understand Hebrew. Chinese speaking understand mandarin. ...

Not some babble that is evidenced even in the ungodly pagan religions.

The Native American songs rarely used words, only vowel sounds to become expressive in their exuberance.

Hindus and Buddhist also do the same as they get into a trance like state.

Tongues as on this film is not God glorifying.

Whatever happened to seriousness and soundness of speech when teaching the Word? (Titus 2:7-8)

I'll make a thread on that issue in time since we see "charismaticism," a "big show," or humor being the big draw instead of the power of the Word nowadays from a number of church leaders.

I was a teaching Elder in the Assemblies of God, and even they saw the WoF as being cultist and heresy in many areas of doctrines!

Although I wasn't a member, I attended Fountain of Life AoG in Burlington, NJ, in addition to my regular church, to the point where I think most people thought I was.

I don't know what they're like now, as this was twenty-five years ago but, at the time, they were about halfway between the regular Pentecostal goofiness you'd expect to see in an AoG and the outright WoF heresy.

I remember Charles and Francis Hunter were frequent guests there, and it may just be my imagination, but I seem to remember Benny Hinn appearing there once, in the early days of his er, "ministry".

So are you saying that I can identify this as demonic because I am demonic? I can assure you that I am far from demonic. I am indwelt by the Holy Spirit, saved by the blood of the Lamb of God. My kingdom is God's Kingdom.

I myself was taken in by the International House of Prayer Kansas City (IHOPKC) and its Houses of Prayer (HOP) the world over. I eventually got out for good thanks to this message board.

They are a dangerous cult gobbling up millennials by the tens of thousands and dooming them to perdition. The people who rujn the movement are supposedly all saintly people and Jesus-like leaders, but in fact they are wolves in sheep's clothing dancing the jig of the dragon they serve, without knowing it.

The AOG still has their pentaostal mistakes in regards to the sign gifts and free will salvation, but the WOF holds with and teaches another Gospel, as they have Jesus dieing as a sinner, and needing to be reborn again in hell for one of there glaring heresies!

Sad that some in the WOF and other aberrant groups do indeed see those of us who are not into their heresy as being denying the Holy Spirit, and at times even possessed!
NOT speaking to this poster, but my experiences dealing with some of them!

Angels are real, The Holy spirit is Real

I prefer text over video.

Angels ARE powerful. Especially in prayer. Daniel's words were heard by God.
But God's reply was delayed 21 days by the demon over the kingdom of Persia.
The archangel Michael was victorious in battle with this demon. Dan 10:12-14.

Daniel is a prophetic book. But the principle above shows that spiritual warfare
can affect the timing of God's replies. But He is Sovereign, and Satan and his
demons are subject to His Will.

As to miraculous healings by God, they continue to this day. Granted, not all are
healed, just as in Jesus' time. God is Sovereign. He has chosen whom to heal.
Prayer does not change God's mind. But it can humble, refine, and purify the
heart of the one who prays. No matter what the outcome, we give thanks in all
things because we serve a Great God!

It's not praying once, and then waiting. Just like praying for God to save a loved one,
it takes persevering prayer for the Holy Spirit to work in the heart of the one who prays.
And, healings need not be in one, all encompassing step. Christ also performed
progressive healings. Mark 8:22-25. There is no conflict with medicine. Isa 38:21;
recall that Luke's profession was as a physician.

My home church is Baptist. We believe in the full security of the believer. The church is not
Calvinist; I am. On many occasions, I have gone to a church whose leadership is from
another Baptist church. Like ours, they believe in the eternal security of the believer.

The leadership also teaches that the gifts of the Spirit are for believers today. Because this
subject
is so controversial among Baptists on this forum, I will post nothing more here,
but on a forum for all Christians.

I believe vanessa12 is a Christian, like those of the Assemblies of God. She is no cultist, just a new
member trying to find a place to communicate. It is very unfortunate that she was received with
such hostility and absence of Christian love.
