Job 2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

So your point is?

That's nice but are you Hyper Cal or not?

Please define what you mean by the term "hypercalvinism". I am not asking for an essay, just what you think the distinguishing marks are so that I can tell you if I agree with all of them.

God has determined all things and ordains all things.
Defines total depravity as total inability.
God predestines those who will be saved and those who will be lost.
Teaches that Christ died only for the elect and not the whole world.
The Holy Spirit extends a special inward call that inevitably brings the elect to salvation.

That you're (off a bit)

Off a bit on what? Try to be specific. According to Calvinism, God determines all thing, right? And your a Calvinist, right? So if God, according to Calvinism, determines all things that means whatever Satan does is determined by God. That is if your theology is correct, that is if you are a Calvinist.

My comment was edited. I didn't say you're off a bit. I guess I can't say what I said.

Sounds like regular Calvinism to me. What I understaod hyper-Calvinism to mean is that the gospel should be preached only to the elect and that the elect don't even have to hear the gospel to be regenerated - both points that I disagree with.

yes, I know the double-talk of the "Reformed"!

When it says, "All things are decided and caused by God", it either means, ALL things, or MOST things, or SOME things". Which is it?

All. The creature can never be sovereign over his Creator.

By the way, I believe that salvation is by God's sovereign grace in Christ and His finished work, not "Calvinist"(I don't recall ever reading anything written by Calvin other than what other people have quoted from him), not "Reformed"(I do not approve of paedo-baptism).

While I don't think Satan can completely read any mind he chooses, he CAN deduce peoples' attitudes by their acts, & can link up with the minds of those seeking him insteada God. He knows how to invent false "scratch" doctrines for every itching ear, and put them in the minds of his minions to spread to others. His minions are those who have allowed him to "devour" them.

does the Devil have the power to read our mind?
I’m more troubled by the fact God knows all my thoughts and I’ll give an account for every careless word. Thank God for His mercy.

I heard a pastor say once the devil is not omnipresent but he’s really fast. He’s not omniscient but he’s really smart. He’s not omnipotent but he’s really strong. He can do only what God allows him to do; I.e. Job.

peace to you

according to Calvinism, determines all things that means whatever Satan (spirit) does is determined by God (spirit, holy).

My thoughts.

The creation, this age of flesh and blood was subjected to vanity, because of the spiritual wickedness of Satan, in hope.

During this age, the devil is doing his thing and God is countering that through Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, unto the resurrection.

Lets keep Calvin out of this!

That door was opened by KenH {see # 2, 5, 16} and you {see # 4}. I am not trying to start a war of words but rather get some clarity.
KenH said in post 2 "God is absolutely totally sovereign. Therefore, Satan can only do what God has ordained that he will do." Which you agreed with in post 4.
Does that include all things that Satan does or only some things? And if only some things then what are not ordained by God?
