If we picture the cross of Christ, at least in my mind, I see a vertical post twice as long as its horizontal post located about 1/5 the way down from the top.

The key to intercessory prayer is not to ask God to take independent action, but to ask God's help to consider and take our own action to fulfill the ministry of Christ.
Some might be thinking, Van, you have missed an important area, prayer for our enemies. That endeavor seems to be left out of your illustration. But such is not the case, I left that area for the foot of the cross, picture our enemies, covered in the blood of Christ.
