The Pre-Flood world

The Bible says (Jude) that there are devils that were free before the flood, but since have been put in prison. I wonder what the devils did that put them in prison and I also wonder about the pre-flood world & the strength of man. I was reading a article on the web yesterday which spoke of animals in the old earth. Perhaps pre flood there were animals (other than dinosaurs) that did not survive in the post flood climate. Anyone?

Sorry but you seem to have a mix of events. Can you elaborate on what you are asking? Are you asking about fallen angles or animals before the flood and what exactly about either are you asking.

Are you referring to those that both peter/Jude say were under wraps right now, they are reserved for judgement?
many hold them to be Angels who forsoke heaven and came to earth, "lusting after strange flesh", and had relationship with daughters of man, create giants in the earth...

Exactly.. So it is their lust and sexual relations with women that put them in prison?

That is a debated issue....personally, I do not think that that is what occured before the flood, or that it occured at all...but there is room for disagreement, as I think both sides have good positive arguments on those points. I do not see though, what animals have to do with it, that appears to be essentially a separate issue....but to directly answer:

Perhaps pre flood there were animals (other than dinosaurs) that did not survive in the post flood climate. Anyone?

No, that was the manifestation of them leaving their duty stations in rebellion against the authority of God.

Exactly...

they lusted and went afterv"strange flesh".

based upon the original greek construction used, hard to NOT see the authors referencing actually angels as sons of god, and not just line of ungodly men!

A valid point.........provided the original language weren't HEBREW. :BangHead:

regardless of being in hebrew the OT texts regarding this, peter and Jude uin the greek were inspired to give 'Holy spirit' commentary on who the sons of god were, and contex seem to fit fallen Angels best!
