The Presidents message tonight at Newtown

I thought it was pretty good. I apreciated the scriptures that were quoted and the referances to God and Jesus. He was obviously sincere.

A couple of things, though...

I thought that he got a *little bit* political at one point,. wich is waaay out of place under these circumstances. (I was expecting him to say "it takes a village" at one point).

Also,I coulnd help but feel that he was a bit of a hypocrit in this setting...considering that he actually condons killing children. (abortion, of course)

It was an extraordinary speech by our President at a crucial moment for our nation. I was thankful for his poise and articulation of a reasonable plea for sanity.

And you always talk about protecting the unborn, but you do not support programs to help infants in need after they are born. As you said you cannot condemn one thing without condemning the other. So when are you going to support programs feeding the malnourished children and supporting programs for improving the health of those who are living and in need?

Where are you getting your information, CTB??? I am not against any programs for LEGAL American citizens. In fact, I was the Chairman of our county health departments childrens immunization program. As chairman I worked to get parents educated on the need to immunize their kids.

I was also nominated Youth Advocate of the Year by the Riverside County Office of Education, and given a similar award from the Grand Island Board of Education.

If you want to throw accusations in my direction brother, remember the mud can fly both ways.

I have accomplished many things on behalf of legal immigrants and their children, including programs to assist them in better understanding and complying with the laws pertaining to their in home child care license.

I don't have a black mark anywhere when it comes to helping infants in need after they are born.

I assume your are eluding to my opposition to Affordable Care and amnesty.

Again, I will do anything to help a fellow American. On the other hand, I will not lift a hand for those who have come here without following our laws.

They are here illegally, and they need to sink, or swim, or return home. If that gets in your "craw" BTB, so be it. Just don't sling mud at someone who's done more in the last thirty years to promote infant, child and teen health and safety, then you could ever begin to imagine. I'm not a sloth, just an American who is fed up with people coming here illegally and wanting to be treated as though they are due it.

It is obvious from your past posts that you are not pro-life for the living. You have railed against programs that help the poor, the infirm folk who are often in desperate need. Even your post here shows that you really do not like to help others, regardless of the front you put up.

No where did Christ say, "Check the immigration papers." Look at the last judgment in Matthew. There are no qualification tests.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in."








You sing the praises of the unborn, but you do not live that same philosophy, in your posts, for the living.

I did not see the president's condolence speech. Perhaps I can find it later, but I am glad to hear it was a good speech. I cannot imagine what the parents of these small children are going through. I find it exceedingly painful just to think about the loss these people have suffered.

Likewise for the friends, families, loved ones of the adults who were so senselessly struck down.

We need to pray for all.

President Barack Obama used the Sunday evening memorial service for the murdered kindergartners and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School to launch a partisan campaign that could expand government intrusion into parenting and gun control.

“[The] job of keeping our children safe, and teaching them well, is something we can only do together, with the help of friends and neighbors … and the help of a nation,” Obama said at the vigil, which held only a short distance from the Connecticut school where 20 children and six adults were murdered on Friday.

“We will have to change. … If there is even one step we can take to save another child, or another parent, or another town, from the grief … then surely we have an obligation to try.”

It is not clear if Obama actually will develop a national anti-violence crusade that would reshape families’ ability to raise their children. He may simply be using the Sandy Hook shooting to paint Democrats as defenders of the nation’s children from the GOP-backed gun industry.

I haven't watched any of the news about this.

When the President came on television, I simply switched it off and was repulsed at the thought of someone inserting themselves into a tragic situation and not really meaning the prayer.

For all I know, he could have meant it, but my gut tells me this isn't a man who believes in the true G-d. His actions show otherwise.

I used to like him. Not for a President, but I still thought he was decent and respectable. It wasn't the end of my world when he was voted in the first time. The second time, I got nauseated.

But maybe, just maybe, and I really hope it's the case, he truly meant it and we'll see a change of heart in our President and see him start showing evidence of true faith.

I watched it and I couldn't help but wonder what kind of response Obama would get if he made this same speech to all those mourning the deaths of their loved ones caused by his drone strikes and his proxy armies of Islamic extremist terrorists in Libya and Syria.

His mock concern for the lives of others that was on display last night for the whole world to see made me sick.
