    5 Pages of nothing? Really?

Is the good pastor taking a two-way communication medium and turning into a one way spamvertisement for his sermons? Absolutely, and I believe he is misusing the board in the process.

However, the OP makes some excellent points. I do not understand why parents have children and then ask someone else to raise the children for them. I do not understand why the Bible says that women are to be keepers of the home and then they go get careers and when they find the time they hatch a child and then send the child to someone else to care for them. I further don't understand why parents spend hundreds of dollars on day care, hundreds of dollars on a vehicle note and maintenance so the wife can work a job making 25k-40k and think they're getting ahead in life? Then when Johnny or Sally aren't Christians and they're fornicating or doing drugs or whatever, the parents just can't understand what went wrong and why didn't the church they send them off to for two hours turn them into a Christian?

I believe it is a sin to send children to daycare (save for the single-parent households that have been cursed by other sins). I think this is a very important topic and I'm only sorry that an individual who doesn't play well with others brought it up. However, if someone would like to engage in dialogue about this issue that would be swell. If the originator of the thread is too much of a distraction the thread should be closed as well as any other new posts this individual creates (unless he decides to participate rather than dictate).

By the Baptistboard definition, I don't think the original post qualifies.

He did not post an absurdity and has not insulted anyone.

However, five pages of ranting about the OP fits my subjective view of absurd and there were certainly one or two insults thrown out within the ranting.

Regardless, what do you think of daycare Tiny? What role should it have within a Christian family?

You do make some excellent points. It is a topic worthy of discussion. BUT like so many things in life, how it is brought up initially dictates the ensuing coversation. I am involved on a teacher chat board where this very topic has sent precious teachers packing because the conversation was harsh and ugly.

    --------------------------------------------

Personally, my husband and I made the decision that I would stay home while the kids were little. I had 8 glorious years at home from the time the first one was born until the time the second one went to kindergarten. I don't think (based on my personality) that I could have done it much longer though!

I also had friends that stayed home their 6 weeks and found childcare (not daycare - childcare) and their kids are wonderful! They are great parents, spend tons of time with them, invest much of themselves in the activities they are involved in. Most of my friends were in this category.

I am not going to comment on this thread anything that would feed Sanderson's ego.

If another thread was open by a BB member that doesn't just want to divert traffic to his site to feed his ego, then I would consider it.
Rufus, if you want to start one, I would contribute.

Tim, If if may politely disagree here. Mr. Sanderson isn't going to read anything we write. He doesn't come back to scene.

But since you feel this way, and since I happen to agree with Rufus, I'll go start the thread ;)

Rufus, I'm gonna offer a hypothesis...and it may fully well be me justifying my own misbehavior. :saint:

Sanderson's posts are meant to be pharasaical and inflammatory. He has no interest in discussion. I doubt he is interested in people learning or sharpening one another.

I figure his intentions aren't good. The least I can do is create some fun, bonding, and fellowship out of his trolling. So I tend to be lighthearted and have fun with things. Sometimes I probably miss out on a good chance for discussion. But as you can see, I posted on the daycare thread created by a REAL BB member...so every now and then, I do mess up and actually say something serious.

Anyhoo...I figure me being silly at least brings something worthwhile to Spamderson's tripe.

Imagine what this place would be without Sanderson...

You gotta admit, he gets the place laughing.

My daughter finished her five-year teachers degree
in December back when she was 23 or so. She couldn't
get an elementary teaching job until August that year.
She got a job or three at different Day care places.
I went to get her one day. I asked for her by her first
name, but the lady i spake to didn't recognize that
name among the children at the preschool.
So I had to mention that my daughter was one of
    the workers.

I didn't listen to the sermon, but just out of curiosity, what was wrong with the initial post? I read it several times and it seemed truthful and presented in an appropriate spirit.

And I can understand why there was no reply, because no one replied to the initial post with any substance. Just some rather childish and pathetic griping.

    Mike,

It is true there has been childish and pathetic gripings. But, in defense of these children and pathetic gripers, Sanderson (recognized by many as Spamderson) is known for spamming the BB with rantings that truly appear to be either more childish or Pharisaical in nature.

He does smash TV sets and preaches in such a way that others see him to be a violent and insecure man.

And his scaring babies and toddlers with his screaming and swinging baseball bats in anger in the sanctuary certainly is more pathetic than those children and gripers who jest at his rambling.
