I am amazed that you are so complacent about how you disrespect all those fellow Christians that have in the past and now strive to further the kingdom. You are will to thrown Wilberforce and Bonhoeffer plus how many others under the bus as they did and do not think as you do. Rather judgemental of you Jon.
You are wrong. It isn't disrespect. I was a Republican for most of my life.

But we cannot justify sin simply because Christians in the past committed them.

Christians who vote for the DNC have supported abortion for decades. It is not wrong to say so.

Christians who supported the GOP, until recently, were pro-life and against same sex marriage.

This is the first election I know of that the GOP has taken a pro-choice stance. And until recently they were against same sex marriage.

I get that Trump has taken up pro-choice, same sex marriage, and the normalization of homosexuality in order to get votes. I doubt Trump would have a shot if he didn't.

Politics is compromise.

I simply do not believe that Christianity should be up for sale.

But yes, I do not worship Christians who have lived before us. I am willing to state that Whitfield was wrong to be pro-slavery.

Given your logic, however, you disrespect Jesus, the Disciples, the Apostolic Church and every Christian prior to the Roman Catholic Church. You stated that they (including Jesus) did nothing about evil because they abstained from trying to make the World better through politics.

Your arguments are exactly like the pagan Romans, and exactly like the Jews who crucified Jesus in their expectations.

And you are wrong. Saying that abortion and homosexuality are evils is not being judgmental.

We are commanded not to judge the World but we are commanded to exercise judgment within the Body of Christ.

If you were not a professing Christian then I would have no right to judge your pro-choice and pro-homosexuality support.

But you are a professing Christian who is supporting an agenda that is pro-choice, for the normalization of homosexuality, and same sex marriage.

It is not what you support that I condemn. The World is already condemned. It is that you support those things while professing Christ.

What Christians need to do is prayerful consider their citizenship.

Are we going to be of the World, uniting with the powers of the World to change the World?

Or are we going to be sojourners in this world, called out from the World to be a holy people, not concerned with the affairs of the World, not judging the World, uncompromising our stand in Christ as salt and light.

We cannot be both.

For someone that claims to have various degrees you do miss read quite a few things. You misread Matthew and you have misread much of what I have posted.

You are judgemental when you judge people as lacking faith or are compromised because they do not agree with your view. Your pride is your Achillies heal. You act as if you are the arbiter of truth and faith.

You should humble yourself before God and ask forgiveness for your arrogance.

When you can not even correctly state what I have said then how is anyone to trust what you say.

Jon you have fallen into the trap of legalism.

This is true. Jon would be fine if he simply took the position which some Christians do take, that he feels he should sit this one out. But to say you're not judging the world, but then turn around and judge the honestly and integrity of fellow Christians who are just trying to do what they can is frankly, unbelievable.
