Crabby, I sure do love your "words of wisdom."

OTOH, why not try using God's Word instead?

I do believe there is a closet(?) Buddhist/Shintoist/Taoist/whatever, on board this board!?

Haven't read all his posts by a long shot, but the only time I recall HOLY SCRIPTURE being quoted by him is when it is pulled out of context to support some liberal claim proving(?????) that Jesus was a confirmed socialist.

Just an observation.

Do you see anything in scripture to contradict the saying?

Do you like this one better:

Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows; it empties today of its strength.

He's an atheist troll.

Thou shalt not bear false witness. You tread on very thin ice BroC.

There are six things that the LORD strongly dislikes, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
—Proverbs 6:16–19

You bear false witness here every day.

You do not act like a Christian. You do not believe like a Christian. You do not talk like a Christian. All you do is make fun of Christians. Therefore, I believe there is no way you can number yourself among us. You have too much hate in your heart to be a Christian.

Sure glad that decision is up to God whom I committed my life to before you were born.

I figure you mean I do not agree with your infallibility. Sorry, I follow Christ's teachings to the best of my ability and am not concerned about you uneasyness with Christ's teachings on how we are to love and help others.

Now, how about an answer. Do you agree with James that "faith without works is dead?

You preach a mixture of Buddhism and humanism, with some of "the teachings" of Christ thrown in. You do not have a Christian message. Or witness.

Simply because you do not agree with me on the importance of following the teachings of Christ. So, you accuse, blow smoke and call names. But I have noticed you almost never answer questions.

Also, you do not seem to know that Confucius never intended to found a religion, but to explain how a person can live a good life. In other words, he created an ethical code. You may or may not agree with his ethics. Here is a synopsis of his ethical code:

1. propriety, reverence, courtesy,
2. the virtue of goodness and benevolence
3. as a son he is always loyal, as a father he is just and kind, as an official he is loyal and faithful, as a husband he is righteous and just, and as a friend, he is faithful and tactful.

Do you see anything wrong with any of these ethical principles?

Now Confucius has nothing to do with salvation and those who believe he does are mistaken.

So, do you agree with James when he says, faith without works is dead?

It is you who downplayed the teachings of Christ, when you claim scripture study is not important. There is nowhere on this board where you can find me denying ANY of Christ's teachings. So I win that point.

I don't care why Confucius said about anything.

And, now, before I answer you, do you consider the book of James inspired scripture ?

I have never claimed scripture is not important. I do claim that you cannot selective select scripture to fit only your prejudices. You either accept all scripture or you err ... especially it is dangerous to ignore the teaching of Christ on how we are to treat others.

Definitely.

Do you? Do you agree with him when he says, "faith without works is dead"?
