You may be right, but it sounds like wishful thinking on your part.It doesn't matter. States are too dependent on the federal government. States sold their souls to the company store long ago.
I've seen this in action. Years ago I decided it was not in the States interest to implement a program (because of geographic reasons it did not make sense). My recommendation was followed (everybody at the State level agreed). Other states took the same approach. You may be right, but it sounds like wishful thinking on your part.
I believe most of the federal government is overreach and a corrosion of States rights.
It started to die in the 1820s when Jackson won the Nullification Controversy.Federalism, as envisioned by the Founders, died a long time ago in the United States.

this goes beyond that (which right now IS hard to realize) but he’s right. The sovereign states have ceded their sovereignty to the Fed.
at one time the nation was referenced as THESE United States of America
according to unconstitutional whackos, only whacko conservatives use that phrase.
squire says 1820 … he may be right, but structurally the Fed departed when the 16, 17 amendments were claimed to be ratified and the Fed reserve act passed in the same year.
The bad thing is I do not see a path that will reverse this.
I was thinking about all of the "fluff" that accompanies bills in Congress (all of the money tucked in bills but not discussed). States actually rely on much of this money.
States pretend they own the politicians in DC, but I suspect it is ultimately the other way around.
