The State Governors Need to Step Up

It doesn't matter. States are too dependent on the federal government. States sold their souls to the company store long ago.

You may be right, but it sounds like wishful thinking on your part.
I've seen this in action. Years ago I decided it was not in the States interest to implement a program (because of geographic reasons it did not make sense). My recommendation was followed (everybody at the State level agreed). Other states took the same approach.

A couple of weeks later the federal government announced states that did not implement the program would forfeit millions of dollars in federal funds which would be divided among the participants.

Needless to say, we implemented the program.

It is not wishful thinking on my part, but simply stating an unfortunate reality. I believe most of the federal government is overreach and a corrosion of States rights.

Jon gets spooled up by cv vax

this goes beyond that (which right now IS hard to realize) but he’s right. The sovereign states have ceded their sovereignty to the Fed.

at one time the nation was referenced as THESE United States of America

according to unconstitutional whackos, only whacko conservatives use that phrase.

squire says 1820 … he may be right, but structurally the Fed departed when the 16, 17 amendments were claimed to be ratified and the Fed reserve act passed in the same year.

The bad thing is I do not see a path that will reverse this.

I was thinking about all of the "fluff" that accompanies bills in Congress (all of the money tucked in bills but not discussed). States actually rely on much of this money.

States pretend they own the politicians in DC, but I suspect it is ultimately the other way around.

states are structurally the sovereign… but the reality is they have sold out to the central govt. States have sold out because the people have sold out. The presenter in the 90 minute address is quite right.
