THE TEST
Sooner or later everybody is tested on Earth. For Christians the test is particularly difficult, because with Christ comes not only our rights but also and our obligations and responsibilities to Him.
Adam and Eve tested with the Tree of knowledge of Good and Bad. They did not passed the test and condemned to death, and all generations after them.
Noah was tested by Flood. Noah did not resist GOD to build the ark, and perhaps was considered as a fool among local population, but he persisted believing GOD that flood will eventually come. Noah's faith in GOD was proven by his work, and by this work he saved his life, the life of his family and numerous animals, and from him came a new population on Earth. Noah was called as, "a preacher of righteousness" for his work he had done.
2Peter 2.5
5.and did not spare the ancient world but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly,
Lot was tested by GOD when he welcomed two strangers into his home. Lot did not gave them up to the mob if sinners, and even offered them two his daughters instead. Lot did not betrayed his guests, and for his righteous deed GOD saved him from destruction.
Abraham was tested by GOD, Who asked him to sacrifice his only son. Abraham did not hold his son back, but went on the mountain and was ready to offer him. Abraham proved his faith by his obedience and his deed before GOD. Abraham believed GOD that He will resurrect his son and will give him back.
Moses and Aaron tested by GOD at the waters of Meribah. Unfortunately both fail the test. They had been forgiven, but not left unpunished.
Balaam also was tested by GOD. Balaam did everything that GOD told him to do, but at the end he fail the test because temptation of wealth overwhelmed him and he perished by sword. About him was said, "who loved the wages of unrighteousness." (2Peter 2.15).
David was tested many times by GOD and he never fail. But no human being can be completely perfect, one test he fail miserably, it was the test by Bathsheba. David betrayed his close associate and best adviser by sleeping with his granddaughter and then killing he husband Uriah the Hittite to cover the track.
Esther was tested by GOD. She was placed at the center of most dangerous event in the Persian kingdom when extermination of Jews were so close. She overcome her fears and listen Mordecai. All Jews at that time praying and fasted for her. She stepped into unknown and risking her own life appear before the king. She pass the test and been greatly rewarded, she and Mordecai, for having faith in their GOD, and proved it by their works.
Job especially was tested by GOD. Job is excellent example of faith and humbleness before the Lord. Only few people able to pass the test of Job.
GOD constantly tests people and His tests come in many different forms and events, and only those who remember who they are, and also remember Who is watching them, usually pass the tests of GOD.
Exodus 20.20
20.Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid, GOD has come only to test you and to put the fear of Him upon you, so that you do not sin."
