Haven't you ever read Acts 15:4-31? The Church had it's first synod over just that. (But they didn't call it a ruckus officially, so you may be right :D ) </font>[/QUOTE]Jack,

WOW! What a great point you make, Bob! They were honoring the Sabbath day and having the Gentiles learn to honor it too...

I'd of never thought of that

If it was such and issue why isn't it Taught in the Epistles?

Surely there wasn't a Jewish Synagaog in every city where a Christian Church existed?

And, even if there were, wouldn't it make sense to codify it in a teaching to the Gentile Church instead of "hoping" they "caught it" from Jewish Believers?

    In any event...

If it wasn't important enough to be an official teaching in an Espistle should we make it an "issue of fellowship", provided people Love and Worship God at least one day a week?

The 1st century churches were not 'clones' of each other. The only 'brotherhood division' was addressed by the Apostle Paul, and the subject was circumcision being taught to the churches by the Jews.

The church division that we read about in 1Cor.1:10-17 does not teach that all churches should be clones of each other. It is addressing the kind of divisions that are sinful....those within the local congregation.

The "True Church" at the time of John the baptizer was Israel - the "nation church" started by God at Sinai -- the ONE TRUE CHURCH.

Then there was "a division" and we have "The Christian Church" of the NT Apostles.

Was the "division" an "error" because it was a "divisoin"? Or was the problem that the magesterium of the ONE TRUE CHURCH started by God at Sinai introduced so many "man made traditions" Mark 7 that eventually the error demanded the "division" - the error resulted in rejecting the Savior!

The division in the NT church is SEEN CLEARLY in Acts 15 - where God used the ruling of the Jerusalem "Jewish" Council to save the church.

But as Paul said in Acts 20 " AFter my departure WOLVES will come in" -- first century error! See 2Tim 1.

    In Christ,

    Bob
