The Ultimate Question - Did God Create Himself?

How did the world began?
If you ask a scientist this question, it is likely that the person would likely betin to tell all the bla bla of the big bang.
However, we must all realize that the big bang must have been caused by someone? I mean that it's a no brainer to assume that. However, if we are to go further into this, you will realize that there is a big logical hook there.

Did God Create Himself?

Whenever any scientist asks you this kind of question, there is tendency to answer illogically or keep silent?

So, apart from the points given on this article http://www.wikiplora.com/2017/06/did-god-create-himself.html (which I believe is so lopsided), what other strong arguments do you think will befit the question?

God exists in eternity, and is not limited to time. There is no "beginning" nor "end" to eternity. Those are concepts that only apply to time.

Hey Cassidy,

Thanks for your reply. It means a lot.
Do you mean that God came out of nowhere - since there was no time?
Please explain a little.

Jumping in without an invite...
God did not "come" at all, He just is. "I am that I am" also means "I was that I was", and "I will be what I will be." Given the concept of eternity, the above question does not have a meaningful answer. It's similar to asking a mathematician, "How much is infinity?"

God has always existed, as he is Eternal and self existent He was/is the First Cause of all other things, as all are dependent upon Him to create themn, energy/matter/time/space etc!.

Dear MasterOfCoin,

This is an age old question, but leads to an absurdity if affirmed. For anything or anyone to create itself or himself, it or he would have to already be in existence before the creative act, which is logically absurd. Nothing can be self-created, including God. God is eternally self-existent--no beginning, no end. He is not just a being, he is being and the source of all other being. I just read, and highly recommend, a related book by RC Sproul called Not a Chance, though he may address this in more detail elsewhere.

By the way, properly speaking, scientists cannot deal with such questions as scientists. They only deal with things in and a part of this universe or cosmos. Cosmologists might deal with the beginnings of the universe, but their discipline only points to the necessity of God’s existence, and transcendence. This is strictly a question for philosophers and theologians, or at least one of philosophy and theology.

I remember when my youngest was in turmoil. "Who created God?" She asked tearfully?

No one, I said. He has always been.

But that doesn't make sense! (She was only 10)

You can't think of God like you think of man. He is nothing like a man. He is too big to be comprehended with the mind of man.

But you can't escape the difficulty by abandoning the notion of a Creator. If there is no Creator, then nothing created the universe (or mulitverse for you Relativity Nazi's) either. So something had to have always been.

The difficulty never since posed a danger to her faith.

How did the world began?

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God.

Did God Create Himself?
3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Whenever any scientist asks you this kind of question, there is tendency to answer illogically or keep silent?

Frankly, I have never had a scientist ask this question. Most of them assume I believe God, and those that don't and are resistant to the Gospel are considered dogs. I don't try to argue or debate, that is a worthless endeavor.

6“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Scriptures state:
6And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
