I agree with C4K. The mark of the beast will not be given to those who refuse to worship him so you cannot get it unless you do.

If this is not required for the verichip, then it is not the mark of the beast.

Every time some new ID technology comes up people start dragging out the mark of the beast.

Its one possible technology that could be used by some government to restrict commerce, enforce tax laws, etc, even mark followers of the antichrist, or that technology and event could be 10000 years away and we can't even imagine it yet.

RFID is the future of logistics management, and biometrics is the future of identity management. Whether that is through the use of java cards for authentication, or an RFID like implant that authenticates against your thumbprint, retinal patterns, hand geometry, or some other method.

It has nothing to do with the antichrist. He will use the available technology of his day to enforce his regime, and it will be a conscious and obvious choice for those who choose to identify themeselves with him.
