Good for her, and him:
"The vice president was very gracious and very understanding. He understood Joy wasn't attacking anybody, and that there was some miscommunication."

Pence acted like a thin-skinned Liberal when he demanded an apology. Christians, "turn the other cheek". He gave Christianity a black eye.
The linked article doesn't mention anything about Pence asking for an apology, so far as I noticed, so you must have found that information in some other source.

Apparently this call and apology was all private until a Disney shareholder asked a question of Disney chief executive Bob Iger in a shareholder meeting, to which Iger responded that Behar had called and apologized to Pence.

Where do you think the pressure came from?

Thanks for the links.
From the 30,000 calls?

He publicly said that she should apologize. My assertion is that a better message would have been to ask Christians to "turn the other cheek". You may disagree, but that's how I see NT examples and commands playing out in practical ways here.

I did not disagree, but asked where he had said that. In fact, I do agree it is best not to ask for apologies.

But on the other question -- pressure -- I doubt Pence's statement (or statements, if more than one) created the pressure for the apology. I suspect it was the constant calls that ABC was getting (the like of which I don't get involved in either).

Pence fanned the flames from the start, ignorantly accusing Joy of equating his "Christianity with mental illness."

Watch this where he "sounds off" without having listened to what she actually said. On the broadcast, Joy stated that she did not think he was mentally ill:

I heard what she said and she did.
