The war on terror

No, it was listening to the Neocon's that created the problem in Iraq, not the attack on September 11, 2001.

 

They don't have the courage to fight for liberty and they don't want liberty anyway because their own personal religious and tribal grievances are more important to them than a greater cause. Besides, why should they bother when Americans are willing to spend American blood, lives, and treasure? All we have done is exchanged one evil (Saddam) for another evil in Iraq.

 

Absolutely, EG. But here is my dire prediction....when we start lessening our troop presence, they will start turning on & killing our remaining troops in large numbers---after all, we are the infidels. In fact, it would not surprise me to find out that some of the roadside bombs and booby traps that are planted for our troops during the time we have been there, have had some information slipped by some Iraqi troops, policemen, etc., to those who set the bombs. We are equipping and sharing information with people who would think nothing of turning on us in a heart beat, for the most part.

Since some Iraqi troops have run away from battle (and there are reports that has happened), then nothing surprises me.

When you look at their mindset, we are not the liberators, we are the infidel occupiers and killing infidels gains them paradise when it is to further the cause of allah. This is the mindset that all the Western talking heads and politicians do not seem to be able to wrap their minds around, because it is so foreign to our way of viewing the world, especially so of those of a globalist mentality.
