These days many in the professed church claim to serve God but in reality serve other things and seek to please these things more so than God. I know of a lady that is a Christian counselor, a very nice & kind lady. Unfortunately her counseling technique uses so much secular wisdom from the worlds books and methods, you can hardly call her a Biblical counselor. Likewise when out witnessing do not be alarmed if the world hates you, or says all kinds of false things against you because of Christ. But rejoice and be glad for they treated the prophets that came before in the same way!

So dust off your shoes and go out and reach the lost and do not forget to use the law to awaken the consciences of men. And remember who you are serving.

And there goes another moment gone forever. Go share your faith while you still have time.

One reason why I refuse to debate WOTM on this board is that people are unwilling to do the homework and actually hear out what they have to say. For this I mean they refuse to read the books Way of the Master or Hells best kept secret. These are the books that Comfort make this best arguments from scripture and he does a FAR BETTER job at explaining than I do. WOTM also contains lots of footnotes so the false charge that its a Comfort method is put to rest. Lots of the objections to WOTM would be answered if people would do the homework but since no one on this board wants to do this but instead they rely on YouTube videos or sermons, or secondary source websites so I refuse to debate. Jon C would be the only exception to the norm here as he did read a Comfort book.

PS- This is not a WOTM principle of evangelism but a Biblical principle and a principle that was well used and well known in other centuries.

I do not like Ray Comfort as a author and Bible teacher (I think he writes too much too quickly and takes liberties with Scripture) but I do like him as an evangelist and motivator to get others into the mission field (which is right outside our door). I liked the thrust of the OP.

That said, I have read (at least a substantial part, anyway) two Ray Comfort books - "Wesley Gold" and "What Did Jesus Do?". I didn't like either, but I did like Comfort's introduction of Wesley and his appeal for action:

“John Wesley knew the heartbeat of God. He understood the reason for the cross. It was to save sinners from a fiery and terrifying Hell, and he bruised his life in warning them. He preached like there was no tomorrow for himself or for his hearers. He would not doubt be barred from modern pulpits. He wasn’t a motivational speaker. He wasn’t seeker-friendly. He called Hell what it is. He preached sin, righteousness and judgment. He didn’t compromise the message because he feared only God. John Wesley was a normal biblical Christian, and if he stands out from you and I, that’s to our shame.”

I refuse to read anything by Ray Comfort, to be honest. The main reason is that I've seen some videos of his concerning creation versus evolution, and he made himself (and all creationists by association) sound like a complete idiot. If someone is attempting to speak as an authority on something, and sound so ignorant, then I'm not going to listen to anything he has to say about anything.

Not exactly "baby with bath water". But if a man can be so ignorant (and it was bad!) and yet still speak as if he's an authority on something, then he's a man that people need to stay away from. Because he doesn't even know when he's so far removed so as not to be talking about the subject any more. It showed a lack of education, a lack of the ability to argue coherently, and an ignorance of how to answer without resorting to red herrings.

This is not the type of man I am interested in hearing anything from.

Well, Noah had seven, and we don't know about Jeremiah. He could have had zero, but as far as I can tell, we don't know for sure.

But that's not the point. It's not a popularity contest. I have had converts. Why would I change my method? Why would I care what Comfort has to say (even if I didn't know how bad of an academic he was)?

You base your method on results which means you are a pragmatist. Comfort on scripture and not pragmatism.
