Logos,
You are looking at Prophecy entirely from the viewpoint of Believers!
You are bound by Matthew's message which is for Believers today!!
But in Luke 21:28-36 Jesus focuses on Israel's "blinded" Remnant!!!

The "blindness" of the Remnant regarding the OC did not end in AD 33!
The blindness began in the 69th set of "Seven" during AD 26 to AD 33!!
The enlightenment for Israel will break upon them as of 2026 to 2033!!!

God's judgment rests on Israel for 2000 years...from AD 33 to 2033!
Their House must continue to be "desolate" from the Cross to the SC!!
Their 69th Set of Seven ended, Prophetically, on Friday, Nisan 14, AD 33!!!

In AD 2033 God will reveal to ISRAEL that their OC ended at the Cross!
Their restoration is much more glorious than that of the Red Sea Crossing!!
When they See Us Coming with THEIR Messiah, they will "beg for Conciliation!!!

Your admission of truth, followed by your denial, should leave you breathless!
However, if you recover, please, please explain your failure to answer me!!
Perhaps you share the "blindness" with Israel about their restoration!!!

I love this Lastday—you've gotten the date fixed! Thank you for starting my weekend off with the best laugh I’ve had in a long time. You’re the gift that just keeps giving. Please feel free to expound some more!

Logos,
Thank you for the undisguised tribute given me...that's the best yet!
For some reason you refuse to answer despite my asking: "Please, Please"!!
You can't be fair to me or yourself by trying to evade/avoid it with your humor!!!

In Post #319 you made the categoric statements that:
1 Thessalonians 4 can’t possible be talking about a rapture event
since it and Matthew 24 clearly describe the same event.
In response to my question about your claim that "Matt.24 and I Thess.4
are the same event" (to which I agree) but NOT a reference to the Rapture
you applaud all but my final paragraph:
Your admission of truth, followed by your denial, should leave you breathless!
However, if you recover, please, please explain your failure to answer me!!
Perhaps you share the "blindness" with Israel about their restoration!!!
Mel
I continue to wait wondering if you have recovered or remain blind to God's
Plan to restore Israel as His chosen People after 2000 years of "vengeance"!
Note I do not deny that Believers are blessed with a New Covenant!!
It's just that Israel thinks the Old Covenant continues in force!!!

I profoundly profess blindness!!!

Lastday—my bringer of good cheer,

Based on your theory (and I love reading your theories)!
I want to make it very clear that I happily remain BLIND to God’s plan to restore Israel as his chose people after 2000 years of vengeance!!
The good times just keep rolling—we await more enlightment!!!

You Concluded:

Seeking "good times" is an observation to which all of us must subscribe
But I am disappointed that you do not approve of God's "Plan for Israel"!

At least it seems that way if you believe God's Plan excludes them and
the Rapture is not part of the Event described in Matt.24 and I Thess.4!!

I guess you want me to believe that, without your explanation of how both passages describe the "same event" but not if it includes the Rapture, it is beneath your interest to reply or else beyond the scope of your "inspiration" of Israel and OLD COVENANT truth!!!

Whose Plan for israel!

Oh I approve of God's plan for Israel. His work was finished with them in 70 AD. It's just Mel's plan for Israel I disagree with!

Logos,
You write:

God finished His Plan for Israel when they rejected Jesus as their Messiah.
The "days of vengeance" began when the Veil was rent from top to bottom.
According to Hosea He will restore Ephraim/Judah after "two days" (meaning 2000 years) when they "seek His face". The destruction of the Temple in AD 70 launched the"wrath" of the Gentiles upon the Jews and it continues to this day. Your view offers no hope for a future with Ephraim/Judah restored as His people.

I'm sorry I have to disabuse your mind that this is "Mel's Plan for Israel".

Genesis 28:15

.... “For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

Matthew 24 quotes Christ that “this generation shall not pass till all things are fulfilled.”

Mel says God finished with Israel for 2,000 years when they rejected Christ then comes back to them in 2033.

Hmm, who to believe Matthew and Christ or Mel.
Hmm, who is inspired and who is just shooting a line of bull.

That's entirely your decision Mel.
I do find you entertaining.
Whether you are mad at me or not is your call.
Either way I'm not mad at you (nor any one else here).
Next week you will miss my flippant remarks when I start a new job and I won't be able to post as much.
I'll try to do a little in the evenings.
I won't expect any replies from you; however, I doubt you'll be able to resist.

Friends,
I've been surprised at the absence of any comment to the
following two paragraphs from Post #321 - 8:30 AM Friday:
God's judgment rests on Israel for 2000 years...from AD 33 to 2033!
Their House must continue to be "desolate" from the Cross to the SC!!
Their 69th Set of Seven ended, Prophetically, on Friday, Nisan 14, AD 33!!!

In AD 2033 God will reveal to ISRAEL:their Old Covenant ended at the Cross!
Their restoration is much more glorious than that of the Red Sea Crossing!!
On seeing Us Coming with their Messiah, they will "beg for Conciliation!!!
As I understand it, this Thread began over the question of whether 2 Thess.1:1-10 was only a "comfort"
or "relief" to those who lost their loved ones prior to Christ's so-called second coming in AD 70:
It was a promise specifically to the Thessalonians that they would get relief from their trouble (persecution).
The theory here is that "relief" came at Christ's supposed SC in AD 70.
Support for this theory has proposed that Jesus indicated "some of those to whom Jesus spoke would die after He came".
Then it was assumed that, therefore, Jesus had to return before they had all died. The theory also assumed the promise of "relief" debunks the hope of a still Future SC.

This theory means God has not promised a Future Physical Rapture at the End of the Age when Jesus descends from heaven to literally raise the "dead in Christ" and "seize/gather all believers from earth to meet Him and each other" at His Physical, Visible Presence in the air above the earth.

My explanation of "THOSE standing here...who must still taste death after they see Him coming in Kingdom Power"...refers to the Endtime demonstration
by the Two Witnesses for 1260 days! They will protect and provide food for
the 144,000 Jews who will be kept safe so that none of them tastes death;
but will be taken to heaven on the LAST DAY to sing the Song of the Lamb!!
They will be His special trophies and profound evidence that God will redeem the entire NATION of Ephraim/Judah (Israel and Jews) and begin to fulfill His
promise to Abraham that "in his (natural} seed all families of earth will be
blessed"!!!

Some evangelical Seminary professors even today teach that Jesus was
"mistaken" to assume "some would not die until after He comes in glory"
unless He came before every one of that "generation" to whom He spoke had died! Jesus did not "know the day or hour of His coming," but God revealed
to Him (Rev.1:1) that the "NOW time for salvation and God's Kingdom Power
and Christ's Authority" would coincide with the final 3.5 years or 42 months
or 1260 days during which the Two Witnesses will kill any who seek to harm
them!! They will prophesy for 42 months during which the Temple grounds
will still be under the control of Gentiles". Luke 21:24; Rev.11:1-2; Rev.12:10-11.

"This generation will end after all these things have been fulfilled"...during
the 42-Month Endtime Period from the last day of the Passover Week of Unleavened Bread in the spring of 2030
until Tishri 15 AND 16 in the fall of 2033!
Jesus expects Believers to "know the End is Near" (Matt.24:33) because all the evidence now points to His coming during the first AND second days of the Feast of Tabs... 2000 years from His death in AD 33!!
As in the days of Joseph, God wants His people to be prepared in advance!!!

Nature of the Second Coming

In 2 Thessalonians when Paul assures the Thessalonians that they haven't missed the Second Coming it is very telling how he reassures them. It tells us a lot about the nature of the Second Coming.

The Thessalonians didn't think that the world had ended, nor that the world had been burned up, nor even that there had been a rapture event and some how they missed it all. They knew enough to know it would be possible to miss the Second Coming.

Paul didn't correct them by saying something like you won't be able to miss it--the world will burn up, be destroyed etc. He was comfortable with the nature of their expectations about what it would be like--spiritual. He just corrected them on the matter of timing. He also assured them it would be soon. Soon as in the normal everyday use of the word. Indeed, their expectations were soon fulfilled and they got relief from their persecutors in 70 AD at the Lord's Second Coming.
