I question the need for monuments and memorials for those who defended slavery, but if they should be replaced, the process must be lawful. Two wrongs do not make a right.

Remember, many of our founding fathers defended slavery

Makes you proud doesn’t itConfused
The point, I think, is not that we are “proud” of it, but that some of our most respected founders like Washington and Jefferson have monuments that some want removed because of their support for slavery.

They were flawed men of their time, but still managed to put together a constitution that would, eventually, demand the end of slavery.

peace to you

And they were wrong! We are all products of our time, some of the things we tolerate because "it is what it is" are wrong but we are blinded of the faults because of "cultural acceptance." Hence the need to purge our culture of ungodly attitudes, such as two wrongs make a right.

yea, they managed it so they would be dead when it happened. Then there was something called the Whiskey rebellion while Jefferson was plowing his slaves and having mixed race babies.... and so we should give them deference!?!

Peace.... there can be no peace

They were brilliant and courageous. For the first time in human history they put into place a separation of powers because they understood people were prone to abuse the power they are given.

And not all the founders supported slavery. Many opposed slavery.

peace to you
