The “it” in it is finished refers to all the sins of humanity being put on Him and His fulfillment of absolute obedience to the will of His Father.

His death, giving up His life, is what paid for our sins, not just His suffering on the cross.

Matthew 20:28

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Jesus finished the propitiation for our sins before He physically died in order to be resurrected as evidence He received on our behalf payment in full.

Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 4:25, Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

Wrong. No Bible verse says that our sins were paid for by just Jesus being alive and suffering on the cross. Sins are not paid for by anything but the death of the sacrifice.

Hebrews 10:12

But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,

Please?
So then what "all things" did Jesus finish before John 19:28?, . . . Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, . . . ?

The “all things / everything” in John 28 refers to the things were prophesied in scripture concerning the mission of Jesus.

The final event was to die. It was His death that paid for the sins of the world.

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Matthew 20:28

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
