Her 15 minutes was over long ago. She was just too stupid to realize it.

You gentleman are as close to spitting on someone's grave as you can be without her being dead. She lost her son, her husband, her wealth and her illusions that she could play a role in changing her gov't. Now she's going home to be a keeper of it, cut her some slack.

She has certainly done this, and has spit on the graves of the dead as well. She totally embarrassed the memory of her son by what she did, now claiming that he died for nothing.

While I am in complete opposition to Cindy Sheehan's previous words and actions, I am in complete agreement with Rufus.

OK, so Sheehan shouldn't have had freedom of speech. I understand precisely where you are coming from now.
No you don't, or you wouldn't have said something so silly.

I am not against freedom of speech. I was simply pointing out that Sheehan did exactly what Rufus claim some are doing to Sheehan. She should have stayed home. She embarrassed the memory of her son and the other troops that have died in this war. She has embarrassed troops that are fighting. She was welcome to her political disagreements. But she far too often crossed the line into personal attacks on people.

BTW, having freedom of speech does not mean everything needs to be said. Self-restraint and common decency is all too often missed.

Pity too many folks in the thread about the teenage girls and the "fag" flyer don't understand this principle...

Perhaps Mrs. Sheehan should be charged with a felony and denied bail for her comments?

Maybe the principle of expecting people to act with tact and restraint should go for people whose opinions we agree with as well.

Get it or don't, Rufus, I don't care.

I agree with Pastor Larry. She was co-opted in the beginning to carry the banner for the leftists mantra, "Bush lied, people died". She was a shill for them, and they used, financed, reported on, and encouraged her, for a couple years, then, dropped her like a hot potato. She was a willing tool, and not bright enough to see the folly in her decisions. She's now pathetically irrelevant and has no direction. She needs prayer and salvation.

Let me see. Cindy Sheehan's son was, correct me if I am wrong, not a draftee. Like most of those in the service today he was a volunteer. Now a volunteer was not forced to serve, and most volunteers volunteer because that is what they want to do, and they believe in what they do.
So Cindy Sheehan's son was a patriot who believed in what he did.
He died for what he believed. He knew he could get killed, but he believed in what he was fighting for, volunteered, and did get killed.

Comes now Cindy Sheehan exercising her freedom of speech, and in effect telling everyone else that her son was stupid and because he was stupid he died in a war not worth fighting for. And all others like him who are buried six feet under the ground, or who have had their limbs blown off, and their lives disrupted, who also volunteered for duty, are just as stupid.

Like Pastor Larry said, she has dishonored not only the memory of her brave son, but of others as well.

No wonder she did not seem to be by her son's graveside on Memorial Day.

Amen. Remember "Jane Roe", Norma McCorvey? She tells a similar story of being kicked to the curb by the feminists when they had no further use for her.

What's left of it, anyways.... she brought it upon herself.

What disgusting displays of Christ-like behavior. This woman lost everything and at the same time put her whole heart into a cause in which she believed. Would that some Christians would do the same, even if you disagree with her politically.

To you pastors out there, how do you know she is not saved? You question her because she has anti-war politcal views? So do I. Am I less of a Christian? I have seem some pretty disgusting behavior over the years on the BB, politics seems to bring out the worst in us, but this is just sick. She did not embarrass her son, nor the other soldiers who died in this war. Her son joined the service because he believed in something. His mother put her whole heart into a cause she believed in because she thought her son died for nothing. I tend to agree with her. There is no reason we should have been in Iraq and I have said so from the start. No amount of name calling on here will make me change my mind either. She is leaving because she has realized that the left is just as ridiculous as the right and that partison politics refuses to do anything to make anything better, in war or out of it. They are only interested in fighting with each other to get votes and money. Then again what do the American people care? We are more interested in Anna Nicole Smith, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Lindsey Lohan, not mention who won American Idol to be concerned with the dreadful direction our country is going.

Don't forget she has lost everything, more than many of you. May the world judge you less harshly....

This woman lost everything
Just to be precise, she hasn't lost everything. there is no doubt that losing a son is bad. I am not minimizing that. But she has not lost everything. Let's not go overboard here.

and at the same time put her whole heart into a cause in which she believed.
How is this relevant? She attacked people personally. She used obscenities. She lied. None of which is justified in any case. Even if one agrees with her cause, some of the methods she used were wrong.

Would that some Christians would do the same, even if you disagree with her politically.
How do you know others haven't done this?

To you pastors out there, how do you know she is not saved?
For my part, I have not questioned her salvation. However, since you bring it up, what evidence is there that she is saved? I have seen none.

She did not embarrass her son, nor the other soldiers who died in this war. Her son joined the service because he believed in something.
I think she did embarrass them. I am embarrassed that our country cannot have a civilized discussion about issues.

His mother put her whole heart into a cause she believed in because she thought her son died for nothing. I tend to agree with her.
So the freedom of a country from a tyrannical murderous dictator is nothing? That's a strange view for a Christian to hold.

She did not only lose her son, she lost her husband of over 20 years, friends, family, and a myriad of other possessions. She pretty much did lose everything. A lot more than many other people. Things she will never be able to get back, not just her son.

Who are you or anyone else to judge her salvation? That is between her and God. We have no right to belittle her for her pain and grief and question her salvation. There are many Christians that have done some not so Christ like things inthe face of grief. I don't know the status of Ms. Sheehan's soul, and I'm not about to begin to make a determination on it. I will pray for her, and ask the Lord to bring peace and comfort to her wounded heart.

Sadam was not the only tyrannical murderous dictator at the time, nor was he the worse by far. I could list others we should have done something about first, not to mention the fact that our main objective should have been OBL given he actually attacked our country and caused great devastation and loss of lives. So don't give me that baloney about my christian values and viewpoints, of which you really have no clue.
