You simply follow the number at the right of the passage to the correspnding number in the back of your bible to find the chain verses. I love the Thompson chain. Probably the only influence free study bible on the market. I've had mine for 22 years. Loads of stuff in the back.
Hang in there and you'll get the hang of it. let me know how you do.

I have had mine since 1966. Believe I have a few years on you. It is the only Reference Bible that I can recommend without reservations, especially for the new Christian.

The leather looks great. The inside ? Wish I could get it replaced. Ibought a large print a couple of years back but the binding is not nearly as good as the initial one.

There have been many upgrades through the years. I bought one in the NKJV a few months ago for a gift and it had several updates in it.

I have had my Thompson Chain Reference Bible for about 40 years. It is a very good influence free study bible. Mine is KJV. Is a Thompson Chain Reference Bible available in NIV?

My grandfather lived by his Thompson in his ministry.

As best advice...read the introduction and how to use it tips in the front of the actual Bible. That's the easiest way to figure it out other than have someone walk you through it step by step.

The Thompson CR has been my bible of choice for many years, although lately I don't use the chains and other features very much.

There's more bible knowledge in the back of a TCR than in a BS Bible curriculum, I've been told.
