Though He Fall
“Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” Psalms 37:24
When David prayed,
"He restoreth my soul,"
he was speaking as someone who had stumbled.
When Peter preached at Pentecost, he did so as a man who had publicly denied the Lord.
When John wrote of God's love, he did so as a man who had once wanted fire to fall from heaven on people who offended him Luke 9:54-56.
The thread running through Scripture is not the greatness of God's people, but the greatness of God toward His people.
The young believer often marvels that God saved him.
The older believer often marvels that God has kept him.
