Yes, Texas was the better team. But to say that Texas was the "far better team" goes too far.

In kick'em ball(1) and (2) or roundball the team that plays the best over the entire time will usually win, barring a fix or an occasional bad or missed call. Baseball is different. Because of a couple of plays on offense and defense, Texas played the best for the entire game. And I'm neither a Texas or USC fan.

I dislike both Texas and USC.

Texas played poorly (especially on defense) and still won. It is also my opinion that USC held alot throughout the game and became downright blatant in the second half.

    Sorry I missed this before.

    Scott,
Looks like you won't have to worry too much about either USC or Texas next year!

    You're probably right.

Unfortunately, I think the two teams currently on the rise are Florida and ND... I can't stand either of them either.

My early 06 guess is that LSU finally gets their turn for an undisputed championship.

I think ND and Florida are on the rise again and will be very good in the next few years. However, I would not discount USC and Texas either. They both recruit very well. I believe that Texas is only losing a handful of starters off this team.

Texas is in for a style change. If I remember correctly, the next guy isn't a Vince Young type of player... if anyone is.

I think they'll probably lose to both OSU and OU.

The problem with USC is that the PAC 10 is generally weak. Still, they'll probably take a conf loss next year for the first time in awhile. I'd guess Oregon, Cal, or UCLA.

Never count out Miami or Florida State...

I hear that because of prison overcrowding, most of their starters are going to be able to return next year.

The championship was not tainted. I would argue that on that particular drive Texas was driving and USC was not stopping them. So if the play was called dead Texas would have still scored. The best two teams went out on the field and slugged it out. Texas won! How can you possibly say that USC is a better team? I laugh at Matt for saying something so childish on national tv.
