Climate change threatens the three-toed woodpecker according to the Audubon Society.

A new study from the National Audubon Society, a nonprofit dedicated to birds, calculated that approximately 650 species will be affected, The New York Times reported. It says that the bald eagle's range, for instance, could shrink up to nearly 75 percent.

"Among the most threatened species are the three-toed woodpecker, the northern hawk owl, the northern gannet, Baird’s sparrow, the rufous hummingbird and the trumpeter swan," wrote the Times. "They are among the 30 species that, by 2050, will no longer be able to live and breed in more than 90 percent of their current territory."

And all this time I thought it was the logging and windmills that was killing them.

Well, it used to be global warming but now it is climate change. You can see, padredurand, that with only 3 toes these woodpeckers don't have a tight grip on life anyway. As you noted logging endangers them because they have trouble finding another tree when one is harvested. Windmills get them and solar panels heat the air to 1000 degrees and barbecue them, hmmmm, good.

Your lack of concern for the northern gannet, Baird’s sparrow and rufous hummingbird is chilling considering your mocking of the three toed woodpecker. I believe your milk of human compassion has curdled. :tongue3:

As long as humans habitate the earth these poor creatures will suffer. We should leave immediately and take our carbon footprints with us.

What about the 5-toed homo sapiens getting beheaded?

Satan is alive and well on planet Earth.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Five-toed homosapiens are the problem Bro. James. In the view of those folks, man is destroying the natural balance of an accidental universe. We're harming their mother earth and she'd be better off without us. A three-toed woodpecker is of more value than an unborn child. Destroy the child and save the bird.

One would think that these eco-nuts would realize that they are humans too!!!
Just think how much it would help "MOTHER EARTH" for all of them to volunteer the rest of their life to ME's enhancement by "assisted (or non-assisted :tongue3:) suicide". After all, is she not worth the sacrifice?? Seems they think so for OTHERS to vacate the planet.:sleep::rolleyes:

I drive a 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood - 350 cubic inch engine, 4500 pounds, 22 foot long. I kill thousands of bug, flies and moths every day driving to work and back. I managed to kill a deer with it last March. I leave a plume of hydrocarbons in my wake. It has been known to startle rabbits. mother earthers drive either a Prius or a Leaf. I deserve to die and probably will though not soon enough for the nutjobs.

Agree;;) you are a menace to society!!! Wonder how many insect species YOU personally are guilty of putting on the endangered list?? (Ooops - better be careful here & not give any ideas of "restricted roads" due to the white-winged metaxis quartrita being decimated by cars with large windshields!! :tear::eek: )
