Christian author, famed pastor Tim Keller receiving hospice care at home: 'Can't wait to see Jesus'

Tim Keller, a best-selling Christian author and noted theologian, has been placed on hospice care at his home following an ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer, according to his son.

"Today, Dad is being discharged from the hospital to receive hospice care at home. Over the past few days, he has asked us to pray with him often. He expressed many times through prayer his desire to go home to be with Jesus," Michael Keller wrote on his father's Twitter page. "His family is very sad because we all wanted more time, but we know he has very little at this point."

In their update, Keller’s family said he was grateful for all those who have prayed for him.

"I’m thankful for my family, that loves me. I’m thankful for the time God has given me, but I’m ready to see Jesus," he prayed, according to the family update. "I can’t wait to see Jesus. Send me home."

Tim Keller's ministry was valuable in my life. God used him in NYC to reach many with the gospel.

Tim Keller was a Calvinist preacher and author.
Yes, he was Presbyterian. Many Calvinists do view him as a "neo-Calvinist" (his views were more in line with John Calvin's Institutions than they are with contemporary Calvinism....maybe "neo" should be "revived"?).

I am always cautious about changing the name of something without knowing the difference between what was called the old name, and what is called the new name.

American car makers are in the habit of "rebadging" their old product, but not solving the problems of poor design and poor manufacture.

With Calvinism often the old is considered new. Traditional Calvinists consider Calvinist Baptists as neo-Calvinism (if Calvinism at all).

Unless the neo-Calvinists reject one or more points of the TULIP, the name change is just putting lipstick on a pig like the chromed plastic of American poorly made cars.

yes, A good one, reliable, intelligent, godly.
Yes. We did a Bible study years ago based on his work "Gospel in Life". It was very good, I thought. At the time, at the church we went to, there was an almost overwhelming idea of creating your own parallel society, homeschool, even a little bit of an almost survivalist mentality. And the book was not well received in general. My wife and I were disappointed. Although in some areas I disagreed with Keller a lot, he kept a needed balance between staying true to the faith and trying to work within the community God has put you in to the benefit of that community. He also lived that himself.

That is not the same thing, it is changing the subject and using the fallacy that one wrong is justified by pointing out another wrong.
