Tithing has come up on other threads - so let dig into this subject
When answering, please use Scripture (just 2 or 3 verses)
or the reason you do no use scripture.

My point was already made. The tithe existed before the Law with Abraham and carried over into the Law, then into the NT.

Another point is that the Church in most cases cannot depend on gifts, but requires a steady income in tithes, just my opinion.

It may not be an official commandment, but I can see the need and can trace it back before the Law, so I see it as a Malachi wrote, God will pour out a blessing....

So for me it doesn't have say so in the Scripture.

As the bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7. Do it because you want to not because you have to.

I have seen more than once that people will go into debt to make their tithe or will ask if a gift should be considered part of their tithe.

You have to ask yourself are you giving out of love or guilt?

I was asking for your personal opinion. What does it look like for you in your own walk?
My two cents. It's best to determine for yourself what is best, if you live your Christian life based on others you could easily fall into a legal system, rather than guided by conscience/godly conviction. I speak from experience. That may not answer your question, or be helpful.

Thank you for the productive response.

I had a pastor once say that if you love God 100%, you should give 10%. I was always curious as to why some people measure love with a specific percentage amount.

The question concerning the Christians relationship to the law of Moses was answered at the Jerusalem counsel in Acts 15. It remains our instruction today.

Tithing was a matter of keeping the Law (as @37818 noted).
But so was worshipping God, and tithing existed prior to the Law.

True, but from what I can tell, tithing wasn’t commanded until the Moses. Also consider that the tithe under the OT had to do with livestock and the total of Levitical tithes came out to something like 23%, and it was a yearly giving, not weekly.
