Torturegate

It depends on what you mean by "torture". Is with-holding sleep torture? Is refusing to allow them to know the time so they can "pray" at the right times torture? Is keeping them in a sound proofed, dark room torture?

If these are torture then you would be wrong about it not developing information, because they have. But pain just for the purpose of inflicting pain is what you mean, then the one being interrogated would admit to killing Lincoln.

Very good point.

It seems that the liberal element of our society (particularly the BDS'ers) consider anything greater than waking a prisoner before dawn is "TORTURE".

It would seem wise to have a common understanding of terms before any solutions are considered!

According to the UN Convention against Torture, torture is defined as

"any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to lawful sanctions.

Is with-holding sleep torture? Is refusing to allow them to know the time so they can "pray" at the right times torture? Is keeping them in a sound proofed, dark room torture?

Would these things be classified as causing severe pain and suffering? If not, then they're not torture.

Which of you is willing to test your theory that "we don't use torture" by allowing yourself to be "waterboarded"? Or maybe you'd prefer to be renditioned to an overseas CIA "black site" where no one knows "what goes on behind closed doors" to test your theory.

One of these days Poncho is going to be right; maybe has been on a few points already.

BUT, just like the little boy who cried "WOLF", at least for me, I don't take anything he says seriously anymore cause everything & everybody is a conspiracy in some remote manner.

Sometime down the road he can say "I told you so!"

If you had taken the time to study,I mean STUDY the truth of what Poncho is saying you would know that he is hitting homeruns consistantly.
The truth is that you don't want the truth because it shatters your idea as to what america is.....yes it is the greatest nation on earth, but you have been propagandized by the media and "public"schools, TV, radio, etc to be obedient little "citizens"instead of stand up Christians striving to do Gods will. To do your best to leave this country and your children, and grandchildren an America better than the one you were born into.
Ben Franklin said "a republic madam if you can keep it" to keep it means that it will take an honest effort, and hard work to keep those with an unquenchable thirst for power,(you know like that promised by SATAN to Jesus) if he would only bow his knee and worship him?
Do you think just maybe Satan found a few others that took him up on his deal?
and that just maybe those are the ones that Poncho and me and others like us are trying to warn you about?
After all there was a "conspiracy"to put Jesus on the cross,so maybe just maybe consiracys "at least some"are really true conspiracys instead of so easily discounted as "theories".

Sometimes I am ashamed that "Christians" are so-called and yet will align themselves against that which seems like a no-brainer regarding the morally just position and against the righteousness which God has expressed in our Scriptures...... ALL of which is of benefit for our instruction and application.

Unless 'a suspect' has already had opportunity within a lawful court to be presented with charges, witnesses and evidence, and to defend himself against such charges..... and has been found guilty..... both Biblically and by our secular institutions..... he is to be presumed 'innocent'.

Torture, that is, the infliction of physical harm or pain is immoral, and its basis is in paganism and human sacrifice.
