Transferred into Christ?

Being “in Christ” is not the same as being “transferred into Christ’s spiritual body”

No one argues that when we sin, we are “transferred into Adam’s body”

Jesus currently has a “spiritual body”, according to scripture. We cannot inhabit His body, therefore we cannot be transferred into His body.

It is very poor theology, at best, and tends toward heresy at worst.

Peace to you

It’s a union in the spirit. I’m guessing your thinking is colored by confusion with the physical.

I have no confusion on this issue. We are united with Christ by faith. You can even argue that with indwelling God Holy Spirit, we have a spiritual union with God.

But to claim we are “transferred into Christ spiritual body” is not supported by scripture and simply goes too far.

We do not indwell Christ’s spiritual body. He is seated at the right hand of the Father. We are not there with Him.

Ok, I think you are wrong and do not know it.
The verse 1 Corinthians 15:44 does not indicate the spiritual body refers to Christ's bodily resurrection.

The bodily resurrection to life is in view. First we must live physically, i.e. be born of water and spiritually exist in Adam, and then be born anew spiritually by being transferred into Christ's spiritual body, as a member obedient to the head which is Christ. Then, at Christ's second coming we who are asleep "in Christ" will be bodily redeemed in a glorified body.

The bodily resurrection to life is in view.
1 Corinthians 15:44, . . . spiritual body . . ." explicitly refers to the physical bodily resurrection from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:35, But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

Then why does Ephesians say that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ?

1 Corinthians 6:17.

I do not think I am in Christ’s material body in Heaven, nor spiritual substance BODY.

My spirit is joined to His spirit. That’s what the Bible states. I believe it because it says it.

Are you asserting our resurrection to life is not bodily?

If not, just what are you posting?

Some deny that God elects the lost to salvation by spiritually transferring them out of being "in Adam" and spiritually into Christ's spiritual body. Are you one of those?

Ok, being “spirit joined” is not the same as being “transferred into His spiritual body”

That is the pint I’ve attempted to make. It goes too far beyond what scripture teaches

Scripture does not say we are transferred into Christ’s spiritual body, even if we are “seated” with Him.

There is a union, as you have pointed out, that is linked to the indwelling of God Holy Spirit. Being “seated” in the heavenly places with Christ must be figurative not literal, at least this side of heaven

peace to you

Seated means government, like the county seat or the seat of government. Obviously those who have not been born into his kingdom are not in view because they do not what he says. Since we are one with Christ in his body the church, this concept must be understood within the context of predestination to be glorified physically because we cannot sit with him until these bodies are changed to be like his glorious body. The first 12 verses in Ephesians are about this very thing. It gives the when and how.

These are glorious truths when properly understood. The church, the body of Christ, that is being formed in this age, the bride of Christ, is tasked to rule and reign with him in the next age and in eternity. Government.

What does it mean to be sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit forever?

2 Corinthians 1:21-22
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,
who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

1) How were we "established" in Christ. God spiritually transferred us into Christ's spiritual body!
2) Were we then sealed in Christ with the Spirit of Promise? You bet.
3) Does that constitute our "anointing" being in Christ and Christ in us. I think so.

If we start out in Adam, needing salvation, and end up in Christ, having been saved by the blood of the Lamb, God must have transferred us into Christ, just as verse after verse indicates including Colossians 1:13.

Just admit you misspoke or simply didn’t think this statement through before you posted it.

Being established in Christ is the same as being transferred into Christ and undergoing the washing of regeneration.

Hebrews 13:9 Interpretive Translation
Do not be misled by varied and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace, not by bogus doctrines, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.

It is better to be transferred into Christ, then for the Lord to say "I never knew you."

How do we come to a knowledge of the truth, unless we are sealed in Christ with the Holy Spirit?

It is even better to not be misled into believing being transferred into Christ means to be “transferred into Christ’s spiritual body.”

The endless "taint so" posts continue unabated.

Everyone should accept that we were transferred into Christ Jesus. See Romans 6:3. Then everyone should accept Mark 1:8 which says we were baptized "in" (thus totally within) the Holy Spirit. The only possibility to conclude we were baptized into Christ's spiritual body, which of course is the Spirit of God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The endless “let’s rewrite scripture to fit @Van beliefs” continue unabated.

Being “baptized into Christ Jesus” or being “baptized in His death” does NOT mean we are transferred into Christ’s spiritual body.

By your reasoning, being baptized into His death would mean we are transferred into His dead body

You are simply wrong

Yet another taint so post, containing nothing true.
Note the absence of a rebut al of the actual scriptural truth!

1) I said born anew believers were baptized into Christ Jesus. Was this challenged? Nope
2) I said born anew believers were baptized in (totally within) the Holy Spirit. Was this challenged? Nope
3) I said the only conclusion is we were baptized into Christ's spiritual body, which of course is the Spirit of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Was any of that addressed? Nope, only obfuscation by absurdity.
