Do you think the KJV does not engage in this practice?
Im sure it does, but usually it places additions in italics as do the NKJV and NASB. I prefer that.

Ackshirley, the point of the post was partly to show that a completely literal translation is not possible within the confines of good English. :wavey:

Excellent in presenting to us what the originals actually said, but not best in us undestanding what they met!

That is assuming a "totally literal" version, and even the ASV was not that!
