It is a good translation. It is one of the few versions that I have multiple copies. Its a shame more people aren't aware of it.I enjoy the Modern Language Bible.

I also use the TNIV sometimes for small group studies.
That's good to hear!
Why?
It's just that Rippon seems to get more "excited" about someone using the TNIV.
I just wondered why..

Why not?
Many times hearing what you have always heard told in a new and different way allows you to hear it anew. This is most advantageous when a group is studying God's word as it brings their attention to bear on what is being said instead of their eyes glassing over because they have heard the same thing word for word since pre-school.
He's TNIVO.
Face it, b4l, if someone had said:"I also use the KJV sometimes for small group studies." -- You would have commended them with something like "That's good to hear!"
If I, or someone else had posted:"Why?" -- you would have had your normal conniption.
In other words -- you use a double standard. You get all flustered for nothing when you are guilty of what you charge others with.
There is a current advert on the telly here from the Mormons. They will send you a brand new King James Version of the Bible just for replying to their advert. See, even they have seen the light........:BangHead:
Cheers,
Jim
Once again you post what you think I would post! I believe I asked you before not to do that. I'm asking you again.
I'm very glad that there are Bible studies going on, and I really am not too concerned about what version is being used ... Getting in God's Word with a group of people can only be a good thing.
You need to put to rest your ASSUMING, then POSTING what YOU THINK other people are going to say.
