It is a good translation. It is one of the few versions that I have multiple copies. Its a shame more people aren't aware of it.

I mostly use the NIV, NKJV, and ESV for preaching. I also use the TNIV sometimes for small group studies.

Why not?
Many times hearing what you have always heard told in a new and different way allows you to hear it anew. This is most advantageous when a group is studying God's word as it brings their attention to bear on what is being said instead of their eyes glassing over because they have heard the same thing word for word since pre-school.

Face it, b4l, if someone had said:"I also use the KJV sometimes for small group studies." -- You would have commended them with something like "That's good to hear!"
If I, or someone else had posted:"Why?" -- you would have had your normal conniption.
In other words -- you use a double standard. You get all flustered for nothing when you are guilty of what you charge others with.

But regular viewers of this forum realize that I appreciate a wide variety of translations such as the NLTse, MLB, Norlie, Weymouth and many more.
Once again you post what you think I would post! I believe I asked you before not to do that. I'm asking you again.
I'm very glad that there are Bible studies going on, and I really am not too concerned about what version is being used, unless it's one of the NWT or other translations. Getting in God's Word with a group of people can only be a good thing. You need to put to rest your ASSUMING, then POSTING what YOU THINK other people are going to say.

I use the KJV most of the time and the ASV 1901 and the NAS updated sometimes.
Hmm, on 1/31/09 you said: "All the different versions are causing confusion in my Bible Study group."
From 8/15/09 you said: "I think there are too many versions out today which I feel makes for confusion when studying the Bible in group settings."
From 2/10/09 you related to us the following : "I agree that all these versions only lead to doubt about God's Word."
In another post of yours from 2/10/09 you said : "I think all the versions of Scripture in English are
A. Unnecessary
B. Cause confusion and division
C. Cast doubt for new Christians on the inerrant nature of God's Word."
Therefore, based on your own testimony, I have repeated what you have regularly affirmed. I have done no assuming -- no speculating.
Do you now wish to repudiate what has been your constant refrain in the past?
