Tricare benefits

I know there are a lot of Vets on here, so what do you think about the latest talk from the Whitehouse Admin where they want to triple our out of pocket medical costs? Real nice of Obama to pick on the Military. I'm sure his union cronnies are getting a pass when it comes to helping pay the way. I truly don't mind paying what is right. He talks about fairness all the time. I would like to see what our politicians pay up front for their medical costs.

I hope our GI's remember this come November!!!

What really got me was that UNION govt employees will have no decrease in their benefits!!!

If anything - it sould be the other way around.

Obama NEEDS to raise costs in every sector of medical care so that people are forced by their own needs to drift into his Obamacare provisions, thus insuring that the GOVERNMENT is the sole provider of medical coverage, and further insuring in perpetuity that one must elect the particular Party of candidates that promise the most government coverage.

In other words, the whole issue is nothing more than the means to socialism as pressed forward by the new Marxists in our land -- Democrats --and now that the provisions of Obamacare are becoming implimented everyone will have to join or be cast aside.

That he is starting with a captive audience like our military is telling...

I haven't heard this. We were only told that our co-pays were going up, but not triple and that there are some other changes, such as no longer being able to self-refer for mental health care.
Oh, and Walgreens no longer taking it. (we were using them for meds that the base doesn't carry)

That's about it. Is what you're talking about something that is being set in motion or just being talked about?

What we are speaking about is ALREADY in motion and there seems to be no way to stop it. Costs are going up dramatically in each following year from what I heard this morning.

Well, I've been retired since 2004. I can tell you that from the get go, the government started taking things away, little by little. Medical care was high on my list of things to enlist for. I know it couldn't last forever, but I hoped it would anyway. Once they went to a commercial style setup for active duty, I knew it was ready to get worse over time and when I retired I found out how much! I've expected increases for years and they are slowly inching their way in. Much as I'd like to, I can't blame this totally on Obama.. The last few administrations have waived the raise the tricare fees "flag"
Looks like this latest one might be an "all weather" flag. Such is life, nothing like getting stuck by the government you've been working for....

funny thing is, it's still one of the best deals around as far as insurance goes....

Think that does it....

will post again in a few years,.... XD

We should call this Obama's war on the Military!

It is that, but he is just using our military as the trial balloon because they are, to him, a captive audience with no real choice in the matter unless they leave (which he would probably prefer). What he does there will be done to the rest of us once we too have no choice in the matter. We will ALL be funneled to one of his exchanges and effectively ever after be slaves of whichever government party will give us the most benefits -- guess who?

I’m not a fan, but if this is a “war on the military,” he didn’t start it or dream it up. Military benefits seem to always be on the table. The Redux retirement plan was to save the military money, as was the purposed plan last year. Champus to Tricare - same thing, save money. I think it’s just getting to the point where military members and retirees may feel the pinch even more.

It shouldn’t. It may, however, deter some from viewing the military as a career option. The purposed changes in retirement would be a benefit for many who serve but have no intention of retiring with 20 years.
