Christ's physical resurrection on the third day, was no needed to make those God transfers into Christ spiritually, perfect. The mechanism for being made perfect thus allowing entry into Heaven was accomplished by His sacrificial suffering and death on the cross. He resurrection and public appearances for the next 40 days or so, provides additional evidence upon which we can place of faith in His name.

1) I believe the OT saints were taken to Abraham's bosom, not Heaven, when they physically died.

2) I believe when you see "Sheol" in scripture, you must de-code the meaning as (a) grave, (b) place of discomfort for the unbelieving human spirits, or (c) place of comfort (Abraham's bosom) for the believers.

3) I believe Abraham's bosom is in view, when "the gathering place of the fathers" is mentioned.

4) I believe "Paradise" refers to Heaven, the third heaven, the abode of God, and NOT to the garden of Eden or to Abraham's bosom.

5) I believe no human spirit ascended to Heaven, the abode of God, until Christ died, providing the means of being "made perfect" by the washing of regeneration.

6) When Jesus said the thief would be with Him in Paradise, Jesus was NOT declaring His omnipresence.

7) I believe when Jesus told the thief, today you will be with Me in Paradise, that meant the thief would be made perfect and allowed entry into Heaven on the day of Christ's death.

@Van,
Acts 2:27, . . . thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
I do not know the purpose of this post. Did you mean will not leave my (David's) soul in the grave, in the place of spiritual discomfort, or what? We know, hopefully including you, that the Holy One did not suffer corruption in the grave or in the place of spiritual discomfort.

BTW, David's bones are still in the grave today. So the meaning should be clear.

Acts 2:27-31 is about Christ.
. . . He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

It seems clear, his posts are pointless, otherwise he would have explained his purpose, rinse and repeat. :)
