Why has it become necessary to defend Paul's statements?

Paul said, 37If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize that the things which I write to you are the Lord’s commandment. 38But if anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

So when a topic as appears just above this statement by Paul is brought up on the BB, why is there pushback?

What main topic did Paul just state matters very clearly before the above declaration?

Maybe some do not think all that he wrote down was inspired, as they think that his opinions were not of/from God?

Perhaps there is a lack of comprehension, also.

More likely an unGodly obstinance comprised of "my thinking is better than God's command."

Because many of us (myself included) believe that these things apart from love have ceased as the inspired scripture promised : prophecies, tongues, words of knowledge because the scripture is complete and all we need.

Here, I disagree. I am not a cessationist, but wait for such to end at the millennial reign. For no apostle except perhaps John was given as great a degree of gifts, yet even Paul states that HE saw unclearly, that HE was not yet fully known ...

Yet what believer will lack in any measure during the millennial? And what believer knows all and more than what Paul or John knew?

When will their not be a need for interpretations of earthly languages, nor a need to have the Holy Spirit take our prayers to the level of acceptability? When the millennium begins.

When will prophecy of declaring the crucified and risen Lord no longer be necessary? The millennium.

For those lacking discernment: Unknown tongues, is an earthly language that is not understood by the listener, but comprehension is found as the unknown is translated (interpreted) for the edification of all.

To be multi-lingual is certainly a gift, a necessary gift as the assembly reaches into their neighborhood.

THIS:

Or has it come to you only?

It is not some suggestion, but part of a longer passage which IS a command of the Lord.

Why is the modern church so weak and worldly?

Is it not that they reject the commands?

Or, at best, take them as culturally and / or time restricted and not obliging the modern assemblies compliance?
