Close friend in Canada served 4 terms as a UN peacekeeper in some dangerous areas of the world (think: Golan Heights). Retired now in Winnipeg, but thinking Trudeau may call him up for the Minnesota border if Trump wins the election. Think of all the evil leftist who promise to move to Canada if Trump wins and the Canadians have to stop that invasion . . .

Thanks for the post about the UN flags. That was news to me.

I think that the Canadians are signaling open borders. They let in tens of thousands of Muslims, some combat veterans. These become a threat to the US because it is easy to cross over into America. Canada is controlled by Quebec and Ontario because that is the population center and those Canadians are very liberal. Canada has no Bill of Rights so the police can silence political opposition to Trudeau very easily.

BUT!!!
Freedom of expression in Canada is protected as a "fundamental freedom" by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Charter also permits the government to enforce "reasonable" limits. Hate speech, obscenity, and defamation are common categories of restricted speech in Canada. During the 1970 October Crisis, the War Measures Act was used to limit speech from the militant political opposition.

Trudeau is not in favor of civil rights. He called Ezra Levant into a police unit for publishing a book during the last federal election, charging that Levant was trying to influence the election. It is very expensive to fight the government everytime you try to use your civil rights. Take away the right to bear arms and free speech is gone.
