It should not be ours alone. It should be the policy of all NATO countries. Actual war crimes are being committed. Unfortunately, due to the Bush administration and the poor execution of the Obama administration in Iraq, this country is unable to effectively help countries that actually are in need.

Trump just said less than a week ago through Nikki Haley and Rex Tillerson that there was no compelling reason to remove Assad. So that was our policy.

Of course Assad then used chemical weapons so the terms have changed. I guess we'll have to wait and see what develops.

As far as I can tell, it still is. This was a clearly measured response that should send a message to Assad that the use of chemical agents will not be tolerated.

The Russians will do no more than stomp their feet and pound their desks, ...and advise Assad to keep the chemicals weapons in the box. Or else.

Trump says a lot of things. Hopefully Mattis is running the show when it comes to military action instead of Trump and his entourage.

Syria is a failure of the international community and up until today, a failure of Trumps. It is disheartening that children had to die in such an horrific way to wake up Trump to the genocide that has been going on within Syria during not only his short time in office but over the last administrations.

The UN will do nothing but talk. Assad will remain in power until his own people get rid of him or the Russians do.

We need to let it play out either way.

President Obama was trying to forge a way to peace by working with the Russians, something Trump had said he would do. Of course he's now done the exact opposite not unusual for him. Putin is a dangerously smart man former head of the KGB. This is the way I think this will play out. First Putin suckered Trump by pretending to like him and saying he wanted to work with him for world peace. Putin will now denounce Trump as a weak and dangerous President who is trying to take over the world through American imperialism, much like that which was displayed by GW Bush's attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq and subsequent occupation which constituted the longest war in U.S. history. Putin will then announce to the world "Russia will protect you against this madman." Trump can't match Putin on international political hardball. A master strke by the master of evil, Putin.

Yay another politically biased reply. It just isn't "liberals" that have been on top of Trump and his Russian ties. Republicans have been going after him as well. Regardless of his ties, Putin isn't an idiot. He loves chaos. He does not want peace. He has America reeling from scandals regardless of whether or not he was involved or not and now he has Trump going back on his word and spending nearly 70 million dollars to blow holes into an airbase in Syria.

Putin couldn't be happier with how the Republican and Democratic parties have played right into his hand.

I have no problem with this as a start of something bigger. A start of actual progress toward a removal of Assad from power. However, all Trump did was blow holes in the sand and say "bad Syria" and then state that this was not the start of anything larger.

They have at least 30 more left. So we spend that much money to reduce their ancient Migs down to almost half and then what? Nothing? That is still 30 more planes that can drop chemical weapons.

I am also expecting the worse because i "know" it will happen. I have read the book, I bet you have too. The middle east will have no true peace until Jesus Christ returns. The false peace comes first with the Antichrist, but it has to get REALLY bad so that Antichrist can step up and declare a wonderful peace agreement. Remember God is in control over all of this, if God wants the USA to be involved we will certainly be involved. I do not fret over these things and get myself all up in a lather, God is calling the shots here, i am paying attention to what God is doing WITH those in power for HIS purposes to bring us one step closer to Jesus Christ reigning in Jerusalem. It will get worse brother, guaranteed! Doesn't matter who is President of the USA.

This time should have been enough. If it wasn't we should just get out of there and let the rest of the world do what they wish and allow more to die. We either stand for what this country says they believe, which is that everyone deserves freedom or we walk away from a chance where a leader has clearly violated international war crime laws and is committing genocide and build a wall around us.

Pick the America you want to live in. I prefer to not give up and to help where we are needed. Unfortunately, we have overreached over the last 14 years now and our image is damaged. We are unable to help those that are truly in need due to awful politics and draining moral. It is sad.

It will get worse brother, guaranteed! Doesn't matter who is President of the USA.

I try not to accept this but it gets harder with each day.
