Should I be required to have an air-bag? One bag raised the price of the car by some $500 (+tax).
And then if it inflates - then the insurance has to replace it - which ups the price of my insurance.

You know by 2025 or so all vehicles, including pickup trucks, are going to have to get about 50 miles per gallon? I just talked to a car dealer buddy of mine, and he just mentioned it.

What in the world are we going to drive around? Carboard boxes on wheels? I tell you what, I bet you all them cute politicians up in D.C, and the President in his Beast vehicle, ain't gonna be getting 50 mpg. Just like how they opted out of ObamaunistCare. They get the good stuff and we get gaumed up in regulations.

I'll keep my 22 year old sheet metal Chevy truck with my massive MPG loss of an American flag in my bed...

Health costs are higher. You can run up a 50k bill in a heartbeat, and the air bag is designed to reduce your risk of serious injury or death. I doubt insurance companies are all that worried about airbags. In fact, safety features often yield discounts on the insurance premium.
