Trump calls Obama 'a very good man' after historic White House meeting

Trump thanked Obama for the meeting which he said had originally been scheduled for 10 minutes and went on for 90.

"Mr President, it was a great honor being with you and I look forward to being with you many, many more times," Trump said, adding that he and Obama had spoken about some wonderful and difficult things and "some high-flying assets."

It was not immediately clear about what he meant.

The President-elect also said he would seek "counsel" from Obama.

As the pool of reporters were led out, Trump told them several times that Obama was "a very good man."

The president is now seeing what he thought to be his legacy about to be blown out of the water. So. Mr. Trump can afford to be gracious rather than gloating.

Wow, I would not have expected such kind words from Mr. Trump about the founder of ISIS.

I do not believe your cynicism blocks your rational thinking.

There is a long tradition of an outgoing president to help the incoming one as much as possible, even if they hate each other. Truman could not stand Eisenhower, but he worked hard to make a smooth transition. The problems in that transation was that Eisenhower's staff kept trying to determine if Truman was trying to trick them. He wasn't. Truman and Eisenhower did not like each other and had no respect for each other. But Kennedy, after the Bay of Pigs disaster called Eisenhower asking him to travel to Camp David to consult with him on what to do next. Eisenhower did so. Presidents and president elects know that the country needs a smooth transition.

My prediction, you are going to see Trump back peddle on many ideas he shouted during the campaign. We see that already happening. I see this as no surprise. Trump is not great at stating what he is going to do and then doing it.

I also predict that you and many conservatives are going to be very unhappy with Trump and his changing of positions.

Probably all president elects think they have the answers until they get in the office and find out how much the do not know.

Should be interesting to watch.
